Man arrested for trying to break in to thrift store

October 28, 2011

A 37-year-old Los Angeles man was arrested early Friday after he allegedly used a metal pole in an attempt to break in to the Glendale Adventist Medical Center’s thrift store, police said.

Witnesses reported seeing William Martinez using a 24-inch metal pole to try to force open several doors to the thrift store on the 300 block of Vallejo Drive, according to police reports.

He was allegedly unable to open the doors, so he tossed the pole in a dumpster and fled the store.

Martinez later told police that he had urinated on himself and was looking for some spare clothing, according to reports. But his pants were not wet.
