Council agrees to temporary pay bump for interim city manager

December 07, 2011|By Brittany Levine, brittany.levine@latimes.com

Assistant City Manager Yasmin Beers will be making about $1,000 more this month as she takes over as interim city manager.

The City Council unanimously approved the temporary pay increase on Tuesday.

City Manager Jim Starbird retired last week, attending his final City Council meeting after about 14 years with the city. Scott Ochoa, who currently is city manager of Monrovia, will replace him on the job in January.

Beers will be making $15,219 during her tenure as interim city manager. She currently makes $14,175 per month.

Starbird made $20,000 per month, slightly higher than Ochoa’s approved salary will be when he takes the helm in Glendale.
