CV girls off to tourney final

Crescenta Valley 45, Lakewood 41: Sophomore forward Ella Stepanian scored a team-high 14 points and senior forward Catherine Davis chipped in with 13 points as the Falcons overcame a 10-point halftime deficit in Thursday night's semifinal of the Costa Mesa Tournament.

With the victory, Crescenta Valley (8-3) advances to face Huntington Beach (9-3) in today's championship game at Costa Mesa at 7:30 p.m.


Arcadia 50, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 45: Lana Haddad had 18 points and 14 rebounds Thursday for the Tologs (5-7) in a pool-play contest of the La Cañada New Year's Ball Tournament at La Cañada High.


Martin Luther King 93, Crescenta Valley 73: Davis Dragovich turned in a triple-double with 10 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists, while Cole Currie had 22 points Thursday for the Falcons (10-2) in a pool-play game of the MaxPreps Holiday Classic at Cathedral City High.

Tade Keshishyan finished with 16 points for the Falcons, who received 13 from Christian Misi and 11 from Dylan Kilgour.

Chula Vista Mater Dei 58, Flintridge Prep 54: Robert Cartwright finished with 18 points Thursday for the Rebels (4-5) in a Torrey Pines Holiday Classic Mayors Division contest.

Kory Hamane added 11 points for Flintridge Prep, which got nine from Jedrick Eugenio.


St. Francis 2, Kofa (Ariz.) 2: Eric Bocanegra scored a pair of goals Thursday for the Golden Knights (1-6-4) in a consolation match of the Southern California Nike Classic.
