All-Area Girls' Volleyball Second Team

Jocelyn Cervantes, Senior, Outside Hitter, Bellarmine-Jefferson

Cervantes totaled 295 kills, 173 digs, 51 aces and 18 blocks this season and was named the Santa Cruz League Player of the Year after leading Bell-Jeff to a fifth consecutive undefeated league title and a CIF Southern Section Division IV-A quarterfinal berth. Cervantes was also named a Division IV-A first-teamer for a third straight year.

Claire Kieffer-Wright, Sophomore, Middle Blocker, South Pasadena

The sophomore middle blocker is part of a youth movement at South Pasadena, as the Tigers finished third in the Rio Hondo League and advanced to the postseason. Kieffer-Wright was named a Rio Hondo League first-team selection after averaging 15 kills a match.

Josie Luck, Junior, Opposite Hitter, Mayfield

The 5-foot-9 hitter was a valuable asset and became the Cubs' top hitter after star Maggie Dunn went down with an injury. Luck averaged 3.6 digs (186 total digs) and 2.7 kills (140 total kills) in earning both a Prep League and CIF Southern Section Division III-AA first-team nod as the Cubs advanced to the quarterfinals.

Michelle Miller, Senior, Setter, Pasadena Poly

The standout senior finished with 805 assists, 60 kills, 54 blocks and 16 aces in earning both a Prep League and CIF Southern Section Division III-AA first-team selection. Miller helped lead the Panthers to a runner-up finish in the Prep League, a Division III-AA title-match appearance and a CIF-State Division III playoff win.

Katrina Palffy, Junior, Outside Hitter, La Salle

Palffy was named the team's most valuable player and a Del Rey League first-team pick after averaging 2.8 digs (308 total digs) and 2.7 kills (295 total kills) per game along with tallying 71 blocks and 30 aces this season in leading La Salle to a Del Rey League title and a berth in the CIF Southern Section Division II-AA championships.

Kendall Walbrecht, Junior, Outside Hitter, La Cañada

The junior led the Spartans with a team-high 365 kills, which complemented her 38 blocks and 36 digs this season as La Cañada won its ninth straight and 21st total Rio Hondo League title and advanced to the second round of the CIF Southern Section Division II-AA playoffs. Walbrecht was also named a Rio Hondo League first-teamer.
