Rebels make it five straight league titles

Flintridge Prep 78, Chadwick 58: Chadd Cosse finished with 17 points and 11 rebounds Friday to help the visiting Rebels win their fifth straight Prep League championship and 10th in the last 11 seasons.

Jedrick Eugenio added 16 points for the Rebels, who improved to 16-7, 7-0 in league.

"It's great to have a program that's been a model of consistency," said Flintridge Prep Coach Garrett Ohara, who got 15 points, six assists and five steals from Robert Cartwright and 14 points from Kory Hamane.


St. Francis 70, Sherman Oaks Notre Dame 60: Emerson Castaneda led the Golden Knights to a Mission League home win on Friday night. St. Francis (10-14, 3-7) also got 15 points from Zack Gardea, 13 points from Tei Vanderford and 12 from Justin Trout.

Muir 73, Glendale 65: David Yetenikyan notched a double-double (19 rebounds and 13 points) for the Nitros in a Pacific League loss on the road Friday.

Arada Zakarian added 14 points for Glendale (10-14, 5-7 in league).


Crescenta Valley 61, Pasadena 50: Lexi Mirzaian contributed 19 points and three steals Friday to lead the host Falcons in a Pacific League game. Samira Seraji collected 13 points and five assists for the Falcons (14-10, 6-6 in league). Catherine Davis added 11 points, five assists and five steals for the Falcons, who got 14 points, eight rebounds and three assists from Ella Stepanian.

Burbank 55, Hoover 32: Kariz Alberto scored 13 points for the Tornadoes (4-16, 0-12) in a Pacific League loss on Friday.

Chadwick 45, Flintridge Prep 37: Maya Okamoto's team-high 16 points weren't enough to lead the Rebels past Chadwick at home Friday night.

Kinsey Thompson added six points and eight rebounds for Prep (7-14, 2-7 in league).


St. Francis 1, Sherman Oaks Notre Dame 0: Between their Mission League home win over Notre Dame and Loyola's 1-0 defeat of Harvard-Westlake, the Golden Knights assumed control of their own destiny in the league title chase on Friday. The Cubs currently hold a three-point lead over St. Francis (7-7-7, 6-1-3 in league), but the Golden Knights have one more game remaining on their schedule than Loyola, including Wednesday's season finale at Loyola.

Eric Bocanegra scored the game's only goal in the 23rd minute after tracking down the rebound of his own shot and putting it away.

Glendale 1, Muir 1: Alberto Chamagua scored a goal for the Nitros (2-6-4 in league) in Friday's Pacific League game at Muir.
