A group of men and women, including two parolees, was arrested this week after police allegedly found stolen identification and Social Security cards inside their hotel room, officials said.

Jose Arviso, 35, Christine Sanchez, 33, Robert Peregrina, 24, and Silvia Medina, 33, all of Los Angeles, were staying at the Glen Capri Inn & Suites Monday in the 300 block of Colorado Street, where officers reported finding the cards, stolen checks, plastic baggies with remnants of methamphetamine and a revolver, according to Glendale police reports.

Peregrina, who was on parole for possessing a firearm, was being sought for violating conditions of his parole, police said. Medina also was being sought for parole violations and had an outstanding warrant for receiving stolen property, according to police.

No charges had been filed against the group as of Wednesday as detectives continued to investigate the case.

Glendale Police Sgt. Tom Lorenz said two of the four would remain in custody on outstanding warrants and parole violations.

Patrolling officers reportedly spotted Arviso — a reputed gang member on probation for a narcotics violation — and Sanchez exiting a car parked outside the hotel just after midnight.

Police asked to search Arviso’s car, where they allegedly found a scale containing remnants of methamphetamine, and other people’s belongings, including a Texas identification card, a couple of credit cards, checks and a Social Security card, according to their report.

Officers also reported seeing Sanchez remove two small baggies with methamphetamine, a glass pipe and someone else’s identification card from her bra and place them in her waistband.

When officers searched the motel room, they found three cell phones, a laptop computer, six memory cards, drug paraphernalia, a purse and methamphetamine, according to police.

The purse was reported stolen in December, Sgt. Harley Wing said.

The group was arrested in connection with identity theft.

Just a few hours before officers arrested the group, they took another two parolees and their friends — one of which had a warrant for burglary — into custody on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
