Glendale Unified school board members Tuesday voted to observe a traditional rotation of duties during its reorganization meeting, despite breaking with that practice several times in recent years.
Christine Walters, formerly vice president, assumed the presidency while Nayiri Nahabedian, who was serving as clerk, was named vice president. The new titles are firsts for both women.
"I do appreciate the confidence of my colleagues to have me sit in this seat and I promise to do my best to lead us through another successful year," Walters said.
