Burbank police today released the sketch of a man believed to have forced his way into a woman’s apartment last month with a knife.

The robbery occurred about 9:40 p.m. on March 12 in the 1900 block of North Buena Vista Street when a woman answered her door when she saw a man dressed in full uniform consistent with the security officers at her apartment complex, police Sgt. Darin Ryburn said in a statement.

“When the victim opened her door, the suspect immediately forced his way into the apartment, holding a knife,” Ryburn said. “The suspect, still holding the knife to the victim, demanded her cash and jewelry.”

The woman suffered cuts to her hip and arm when she attempted to get away and call police. After taking cash and jewelry valued at between $10,000 and $15,000, the man fled the scene, according to police.

The man is described as a Latino, 30 to 39 years old, about 6 feet tall and  200 to 250 pounds, police said. He was last seen wearing a white uniform style shirt, black pants and black shoes or boots.
