Several gunshots were fired Thursday near Fremont Park following a dispute among about 15 men, sending a pool party scurrying to a nearby restroom for cover and prompting a lockdown of the immediate neighborhood as police searched for the suspects.
No one was reported injured in the shooting, which occurred at about 1:35 p.m. at the park in the 600 block of Hahn Avenue, Glendale Police Sgt. Tom Lorenz said, though police said some of those who fled the scene could have been hit.
At least one bullet pierced the front window of a home across the street from the park in the 600 block of Patterson Avenue, lodging itself in the wall of a family room, police said.
The men — described as being in their late teens and early 20s — were fighting in a parking lot south of the park before the shooting, Lorenz said.
Witnesses reported hearing four to 10 shots, according to police.
