It wasn't Raging Waters, but almost.

The Tobinworld campus was transformed Friday from a school into a mini water park, where students repeatedly scaled and descended a three-story water slide installed at the site for the day.

It was one of several annual celebrations the school hosts for its students. Others include a Halloween costume parade and a Christmas feast.

Founded in 1977 by the mother of an autistic child, Tobinworld serves 300 students at its Glendale campus, and an additional 90 students at a satellite site in Antioch, Calif. Students range in age from 5 to 22, and all are classified as severely emotionally disturbed, autistic or developmentally disabled.

They come from 22 different school districts in Southern California.
