Ted passed on New Year’s Day after watching his Lakers with family around him. He was born in
Fayetteville, N.C. to Claude and Nell Bass. Ted loved sports. In High School, he was the Quarterback on his Steadman Rams Football team and played basketball and baseball. Ted joined the Navy in 1951 and while stationed at the Alameda Naval Base in California he met the love of his life Mardelle Forst on the Santa Cruz beach boardwalk at the roller coaster. They
married and had three sons. Las Vegas was their favorite get-a-way. Mardelle passed in 1994. Ted worked at Singer Librascope in Glendale from 1957 until his retirement in the ‘90’s. He enjoyed company bowling leagues during those years. For 40 years he supplied donuts to several charities and sports teams in the Burbank area. Ted was always out at a ball game, either coaching his boys or watching the local high school football and basketball games. Grandpa also supported his grandkids by attending almost all of their sporting events. He also enjoyed following his favorite pro and college teams. Ted loved deep sea, trout fishing and his many trips to the Sierras and local lakes and streams. Other trips included Laughlin and Del Mar.
