John Huh finishes first round two-under at Masters

Golf: Crescenta Valley High product in the hunt, tied for 13th at major

Crescenta Valley High graduate John Huh enjoyed a strong opening round Thursday during his inaugural appearance at The Masters Tournament at Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Ga.

Huh, the reigning PGA Rookie of the Year, finished with a two-under-par 70 to put him in a 10-way tie for 13th place, four strokes off the lead. Huh will tee off at 10:08 a.m. PDT Friday looking to make the cut. The championship will conclude Sunday.

Huh bogeyed the first hole before parring the next five. He then birdied the seventh and eighth holes.

Huh finished with four birdies, two bogeys and 12 pars. He also registered birdies on the 15th and 17th holes.
