Witnesses reporting seeing Gutierrez jump into their backyards to gain access to their home garages in the 1100 block of North Kenilworth Avenue, Newby Street and Rosedale Avenue, as well as the 1200 block of Grandview Avenue, according to Glendale police.
A homeowner told police he was sitting inside his living room about 4:20 p.m. when he saw Gutierrez allegedly enter and then quickly exit his garage.
About an hour later, a second homeowner told officers he spotted Gutierrez jump into his backyard, police said.
He then saw Gutierrez reportedly jump into a neighbor’s backyard, change into another pair of pants and walk toward the Department of Motor Vehicles building on Glenoaks Boulevard, according to police.
Officers stopped Gutierrez in the building’s lot while he was riding a bicycle allegedly stolen from a home shed and carrying a bag, containing jewelry, perfumes and two cameras — all of them reportedly stolen, police said.
Witnesses later identified Gutierrez as the man who had entered their property, according to police.
Gutierrez, whose bail was set at $120,000, is scheduled to appear April 24 at the Los Angeles County Superior Court.
