Glendale police to step up DUI patrols amid graduation parties

May 31, 2013

Police plan to step up enforcement of anti-drunk driving laws starting Friday night, with saturation patrols to curb underage drinking at graduation parties throughout the city.

Officers will be on the lookout for motorists who are driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol as part of the “zero tolerance” saturation patrols. Underage motorists are not allowed to have any alcohol in their system.

On Saturday, police will oversee a DUI and driver’s license checkpoint from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. at an undisclosed neighborhood in the city.

The operations are funded by a grant through the California Office of Traffic Safety.
