Homeless man, 61, allegedly flashes 10-year-old boy in Glendale

July 23, 2013

A 61-year-old homeless man was arrested Sunday morning on an outstanding warrant for allegedly lifting his red skirt and flashing his buttocks at a boy, police said.

Officers responded to a complaint of trespassing and panhandling about 8:40 a.m. outside Holy Family Catholic Church in the 200 block of East Elk Avenue, where they found Lawrence Cavallero.

Moments later, they discovered he had a warrant stemming from the Sept. 13, 2012 flashing incident.

Cavallero was charged last October with one misdemeanor count of indecent exposure, according to Los Angeles County Superior Court records.

In the case, a 54-year-old man and 10-year-old boy told officers Cavallero was wearing a skirt and walking north in the 1400 block of South Glendale Avenue. Suddenly, he lifted his skirt and exposed his bare buttocks, according to Glendale police.

Cavallero continued walking without saying a word, police said.

Police later found Cavallero, who was still the skirt along with a jean jacket, in a nearby shopping center.
