Strong Santa Ana winds expected to hit the Southland on Monday night will create dangerous fire conditions, weather officials said.
A wind advisory is in effect for the Los Angeles County mountains, excluding the Santa Monica range, from 10 p.m. Monday until noon Tuesday, with gusts potentially reaching 40 to 50 mph, the Los Angeles Times reported.
A red flag warning was also issued for the mountains from 10 p.m. Monday evening through 6 p.m. Tuesday, said Bonnie Bartling, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Oxnard.
