Teen cited on suspicion of assault

November 13, 2013

Police cited a Glendale teen Tuesday after he reportedly threw a water bottle from a two-story window at a man who was cleaning up after his dog, officials said.

The man was reportedly walking his dog about 12:51 a.m. in the 800 block of South Glendale Avenue, where the animal defecated on a nearby lawn, according to Glendale Police spokeswoman Tahnee Lightfoot.

As he picked up his dog’s feces, he noticed the teen opened an apartment window and then threw a plastic water bottle at him, police said.

The teen ran downstairs and began yelling profanities at the man, who quickly fled the area and called police.

The man requested a citizen’s arrest, so police issued the teen a citation on suspicion of assault, Lightfoot said. The teen was released to his mother, who was at the scene.
