Letter: Treat hit-and-run deaths as homicides

November 21, 2013

When the elderly man was killed in his apartment on Glenoaks the Glendale Police Department stated it was the first homicide in Glendale this year.

When the lady was hit and killed by a hit-and-run driver at the intersection of California and Central Avenue, what was that, a non-homicide? I think this is a very good indication of how our law enforcement treats and how they consider hit-and-run deaths.

I recommend a monetary reward for hit-and-run drivers. Let's take it to a higher level and offer a large enough reward for all deaths caused by any unknown person for their arrest and conviction. When are we going to wake up?
