  • Elizabeth Blackwelder, a lifelong equestrian and trails conservationist whose dogged persistence and love of nature led to the creation of a complex and beautiful network of trails throughout the Foothills, passed away in her home in the early morning hours of Jan. 15. She was 93.

  • Funding has been secured for a $15-million pedestrian bridge that will cross over Empire Avenue and end inside a new transportation center, making access to Bob Hope Airport easier from a Metrolink station south of the airfield.

  • After hearing from some residents who remain opposed to the idea, the La Cañada Flintridge City Council on Tuesday moved ahead with an updated zoning ordinance that will allow for 343 affordable housing units.
