- To the shock of some victims of his embezzlement scheme, former Councilman John Drayman’s was assigned to serve the remainder of his time in custody — an expected total of six weeks — in home confinement, after spending just eight days in jail. Originally, Drayman was sentenced last week to serve one year behind bars, but once he was in custody, his projected release date was slashed in half.
- Burbank City Manager Mark Scott came out of a closed-door evaluation with elected officials on Tuesday with the “unanimous support” of the City Council, the mayor said.
- La Cañada Unified School District officials examined their field trip supervision guidelines Tuesday night after learning that more than one student participating in La Cañada High School's annual trip to Yosemite National Park in February was caught in possession of marijuana.
