Glendale Council PTA is working with First District PTA to support the three Juvenile Court and Community Schools in the area during their annual holiday community service project. All donations may be dropped off at the Glendale Council PTA Office, 223 N. Jackson St., Glendale, before Nov. 29 or given to your school’s PTA president. There are several ways the community can help. The public can contribute gift cards or items for a silent auction gift basket that will go to the boys’ camps.

The 40-40 Dance Club meets from 1 to 3:30 p.m. every third Tuesday of the month at the Glendale Moose Lodge, 357 W. Arden Ave. Call (310) 395-4665. The Young in Spirit Club of Glendale meets at 11:45 a.m. on the second Wednesday of every month, September through June, in the Incarnation school auditorium, 1001 N. Brand Blvd., Glendale. Get ready to rock 'n' roll. The 2007 Armenian Rock Festival is coming to town. The Armenian Musicians and Artists Center Inc., a nonprofit organization that promotes Armenian tradition through music and art, and Tapan II TV, a television show featuring Armenian artists, will host the festival from 2 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at the Glendale Civic Auditorium. "Musicians need to showcase their work," said festival organizer Tigran Mousoian, who is also the founder of the Armenian Musicians and Artists Center Inc. and Tapan II TV. "When audiences witness concerts like this, emotions are awakened in them.

Crescenta Valley High School Senior 'Reflections' is one of the most special and memorable of all the graduation activities. Formerly known as the Baccalaureate program, the Reflections event will take place on Sunday, June 10 at 4 p.m. in the high school auditorium. As its name indicates, Senior Reflections is a time for the Class of 2007 to reflect back on their high school experiences. The program consists of a keynote speaker and senior student speakers selected by the students and the senior class officers.

"Oklahoma!," the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical celebrating the American spirit, is in its final weekend at the Glendale Community College Auditorium Mainstage Theatre. Kim Mowrey directs the classic musical romantic comedy. The choreography by Melissa Randel is based on the original choreography of Agnes de Mille. Musical direction is by Dan Belzer and Richard Berent. The musical features standards such as the rousing title song "Oklahoma!" "People Will Say We're in Love" and "Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin'."

Everything about doll collecting will be under one roof today when the Jewel City Doll Club presents its 29th annual Doll Show and Sale at the Glendale Civic Auditorium. People come to purchase dolls from the 80 dealers selling everything from antique dolls — which are 100 years old or more — to modern ones, said Peggy Viskocil, the club's publicity chairwoman. Others are looking to find items for dolls in their collections, like wigs, clothes and accessories.

The young children who visit The Pasadena Symphony's free Musical Circus find a wide and wondrous array of interactive, kid-friendly performances awaiting them on Saturday mornings throughout the year under 'the Big Top' -- otherwise known as the Gold Room -- at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena. Whether the featured performers dance, sing, tell a tale, play the piano, beat an ancient drum, or pluck the strings of an exotic instrument from the Far East, the kids are captivated.

Trip back to the summer of 1959 with Grease , The School Version. With book, music and lyrics by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey, this beloved high school musical will be performed March 10 at 7 p.m. by Assistance League Fine Arts Drama under the direction of Koni McCurdy with choreography by Heather McNamara. A lively and talented cast brings the singing and dancing of Greased Lightnin' and Rydell High School to life on the stage at Lanterman Auditorium. This is a perfect evening of live family entertainment for everyone in the community.

GLENDALE — "Winterfest" was supposed to be a Toll Middle School music department concert ringing in the holiday season. Unfortunately, some unfinished business got in the way. The performance was postponed because of the Toll auditorium's unfinished renovations. So the holiday-themed recital, originally scheduled for Dec. 14 , will take place at 7 p.m. today at Toll Middle School's now finished auditorium — two weeks after Christmas. "I think it's still exciting for the students because it's the first concert of the year," Toll's music director Naomi Mandojana said.

Scores of students and parents and representatives from approximately 100 colleges from all over the U.S. packed into the Glendale Civic Auditorium Wednesday for the 14th annual College and Career Fair at the Glendale Civic Auditorium, sponsored every year by the Glendale Unified School District. Susan Hunt, instructional support for school district, estimated that thousands of students and parents participated in the event. Representatives from the colleges were on hand to share information about educational and vocational opportunities.
