A Los Angeles man and a near-term pregnant woman were arrested early Tuesday after the man allegedly broke into a work van in Glendale and stole power tools, police said. Ismael Gallegos, 36, and 20-year-old Erica Torres, - who was described by police as eight months pregnant - were taken into custody on suspicion of burglarizing the van at about 1:10 a.m. on the 1300 block of East Broadway, according to Glendale police reports. The pair were stopped when police noticed that Gallegos and his Chevy Impala matched the description of a burglary suspect, police said.

A parolee is expected to appear in a Los Angeles County Superior courtroom next week on burglary charges after a homeowner allegedly caught him sneaking around his home while wearing latex gloves, police said. Aram Hamardzumyan, 22, who is being held without bail, has been charged with one felony count of burglary, according to a Los Angeles Superior Court criminal complaint. Hamardzumyan, who was convicted for assault with a deadly weapon and evading a police officer in 2010, was arrested Dec. 13 after allegedly breaking into the home.

Crescenta Valley Sheriff's detectives arrested two juveniles and two men, including a La Crescenta resident, on suspicion of several burglaries including one at a home in the 2500 block of Prospect Avenue. According to Det. Roger Burt, just after noon on Friday, June 8, neighbors contacted the CV Sheriff's Station after they saw kids go over a fence at the Prospect home. When the detectives arrived at the home they found one suspect waiting in a car and three at the home. "We saw that they entered the home through a window; there were also pry marks on the door," Burt said.

Amber Willard PASADENA COURTHOUSE -- A man who was arrested and released as a suspect in a double murder and who has been accused of the crime by a defense attorney was ordered released from jail in an unrelated case Tuesday. Adam Walker, a Montrose resident arrested by Glendale officers in July following the beating deaths of two boys on a La Crescenta school playground and later released, was one of seven men being held on burglary charges not related to the killings.

Glendale Police have arrested three Los Angeles men on suspicion of committing burglaries in several Foothills communities and arrested a fourth on suspicion of possessing a pipe bomb. "Our [alleged] burglary ring looks like they may have been operating as far north as La CaƱada Flintridge and as far south as San Pedro," said Glendale Police Department Sgt. Tom Lorenz. The arrests were made after a Glendale Water and Power employee working in Northwest Glendale spotted a silver minivan Monday afternoon with license plates matching one identified as possibly being involved in an armed burglary that occurred about half an hour earlier.

Tim Willert NORTHEAST GLENDALE -- Glendale Police thwarted one attempted auto burglary and solved another in the process. Roberto Velasquez, 27, of Los Angeles was arrested on suspicion of auto burglary following a foot pursuit by officers about 11:25 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of Harvey and Orchard drives, Sgt. Dennis Smith said. Velasquez reportedly took off running after he was spotted standing near some parked cars, including one with a smashed window.

A Glendale man pleaded not guilty to burglary Tuesday after he and three friends were arrested on suspicion of breaking into a home and stealing several items, including two cars. Daniel Francisco Chiriboga, 21, was arrested Friday in connection with a Sept. 21 burglary of a home in the 3200 block of Fairesta Street, Glendale Police spokeswoman Officer Leticia Chang said. Also arrested in that case were Glendale residents Joseph Joseph Philip Sparapani, Jr., 19, Jerome Beaumont, 17, and Matthew Ryan Banks, 18. The couple whose home was burglarized were not aware of the intrusion until police arrived to question them about their silver BMW, which was involved in a hit-and-run accident, according to police reports.

A Glendale man is scheduled to be arraigned today on charges of burglary, while Glendale Police continue to search for a car also stolen during that incident. Matthew Ryan Banks, 18, was being held Monday on $30,000 bail in connection with a burglary of a home Sunday in the 3200 block of Fairesta Street, Glendale Police spokeswoman Officer Leticia Chang said. Banks was arrested after a silver BMW registered to the Fairesta address was involved in a hit-and-run accident.

Two men suspected of previous grab-and-run burglaries from Robinsons-May have been arrested. Earnest Lee Gaston, 20, of Long Beach, and Eli Jerome Fowler, 32, of Los Angeles, were arrested Thursday on suspicion of commercial burglary, Glendale Police said. Each man was being held Friday on $20,000 bail. Police believe the two men are responsible for a grab-and-run burglary from Robinsons-May, 241 S. Central Ave., on Wednesday, and another on June 25, according to the report.
