HOUSH - JOHNSON Jayme Linn Housh, daughter of Don and Linda Fern Fay of Oxnard and Keith William Johnson, son of Larry and Judy Johnson of Cherry Valley, have announced their engagement. The bride-to-be graduated from Saint Bonaventure High School with honors in 1992. She attended Ventura College and graduated with honors from California Lutheran University in 1996. She also received her teaching credentials in 1996. She is a second-grade teacher at Miller Elementary in Burbank.

Scott Keen, the son of Robert and Cathy Keen of Glendale, has been awarded the Chevron Scholarship for engineering at USC. He is a sophomore majoring in mechanical engineering. He is a 2001 graduate of Flintridge Preparatory School. Liliana Antelo, daughter of Marciano and Gladys Antelo of Glendale, has graduated with a bachelor's degree, cum laude from Harvard College. Shane Miller of Montrose has graduated with a bachelor's degree cum laude from California Lutheran University.

GIRLS' GOLF Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 248, Pasadena La Salle 298: Junior Marcela Campbell carded a five-over-par 42 Tuesday to spark the Tologs (1-0) in a nonleague match at Altadena Golf Course. Crescenta Valley 241, Burbank 279: Freshman Christine Cho shared low-medalist honors with Burbank's Grace Woo with a two-over-par 38 for the Falcons (1-2) in a nonleague match Tuesday at Brookside Golf Course No. 2. Saugus 232, Crescenta Valley 236: Christine Cho carded a six-over-par 42 to lead the Falcons in a nonleague match Monday at Brookside Golf Course No. 2. Amy Pramuantong and Leslie Hyun finished with a 43 and 45, respectively, for the Falcons.

Kathy Kashuba, president of the woman's philanthropic organization L'Aureole, completed her year in which the group raised $10,000 for The Zone Academy, an after-school program at the Glendale Salvation Army. Benefit Chairwoman Joanie Taylor presented the check to Rio and Rachel Ray, the latter of whom is a captain with the Glendale Salvation Army, during the organization's installation meeting in May. The Zone program offers students between the ages of 7 and 13 help with homework and literacy, computer lab experience, recreational opportunities including soccer, basketball and karate, a manners and etiquette course, healthy snacks and a safe environment, Rio Ray said.

GLENDALE — The following are updates on area athletes at the collegiate level .   Brett Kanda (Flintridge Prep, 2005) senior, UNLV men’s golf: Kanda, the 2005 All-Area Boys’ Golfer of the Year, and the Rebels have begun the season on the right note. On Saturday, Kanda helped UNLV capture the 55th annual Tucker Tile for the second year in a row. The La Crescenta resident was among the top-10 finishers in the 17-team event which took place at the University of New Mexico’s Championship course in Albuquerque, N.M. Kanda, who advanced to the second round of match play at the 109th annual United States Amateur Championship at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Okla.

GLENDALE — The following are updates on area athletes at the collegiate level. Chris Hertz (St. Francis High, 2005) senior outfielder, California Lutheran University baseball: The Kingsmen never received the at-large bid they were hoping for to compete at the NCAA Division III West Regionals hosted by Linfield College in Oregon, thus ending a season brimming with accomplishment for the former Golden Knight. Hertz concluded his stint with the Kingsmen by going two for four with two walks and a pair of runs scored in a season-ending 15-7 win against the University of La Verne in a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference on May 1. Hitting right up until the last day of the campaign, Hertz batted .410 (55 for 134)

Over a six-game win streak that began on April 9 and continued with a 7-2 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference win over Claremont Mudd-Scripps College on Sunday, Hertz has batted .375 (nine for 24)

FRISTAD ? MCCABE Jeanette and Steve Fristad of Glendale have announced the engagement of their daughter, Sara Kristine Fristad of Westlake Village, to Christopher Michael McCabe of Westlake Village. The bride-to-be is employed as a senior sales operations analyst by Amgen in Thousand Oaks. She is a 1997 graduate of Village Christian High School in Sunland. She graduated in 2000 from California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks and is working on her master's in business administration through Pepperdine University.

Jeff Tully Jason Hirsh has been able to fit in comfortably and excel as a pitcher at St. Francis High, and more recently, in college at California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks. But when it comes to the place the hard-throwing pitcher will always call home, that can be found on the grassy fields and red-brick surfaces of Burbank's Olive Park. "I've left a lot of blood, sweat and tears on those fields at Olive Park," said the 21-year-old Hirsh, a Burbank resident.
