Fruits, vegetables and their colors were the themes Monday morning at Marshall Elementary School. Students from kindergarten to sixth grade watched a drama of fruit played out before their eyes as a character named Fanny Farm Fickle tried to persuade a villain called The Painter of the need to have fruits and vegetables every day. Blue and purple represented blueberries and plums, and yellow and orange represented cantaloupe....

Thank you for the great article about Chris Jung (“ Meet the worm wrangler ,” June 24). A couple of years ago I started reading about composting, and worm composting in particular. It's a great way to let nature take its course, recycling organic matter that would have otherwise ended up in a landfill or in a garbage disposal. After locating Chris online I was able to purchase the red wriggler worms and a compost “condo” for their new home. It's been a lot of fun. My grandsons have been equally intrigued with it, although my husband still thinks it's a little odd. After reading the article, I headed outside with some cantaloupe rind.
