Claudia Peschiutta GLENDALE -- The showdown has been canceled. The News-Press canceled a debate that was to be held Thursday between the 27th Congressional District front-runners, Rep. James Rogan (R-Glendale) and state Sen. Adam Schiff (D-Glendale). Rogan will probably remain in Washington, D.C. this week because Congress has passed only four of 13 appropriations bills for this year's budget, Jason Roe, campaign manager for the incumbent congressman, said Tuesday.

The key factors surrounding who the residents of the 27th Congressional District will elect in November do no include such "misunderstandings" and "apologies" and "resignations" and "hurt feelings" as you reported on concerning Salam Al-Marayati and Congressman Rogan's office. We do not concern ourselves, believe it or not, with stupid quarrels between political leaders. Rather, what the residents of Congressman Rogan's district are looking to decide come November is who we must trust most to represent us and who will work hardest for our nation.

David Dreier in the June 3 Republican primary for the 26th Congressional District, which includes La Crescenta. ?It?s not enough just to be a Republican,? Sardo said of the many term incumbent.
