The 21-year-old Burbank native plays Charlie Landers in the new show “Aaron Stone.” Landers is a video game world champion whose expertise lands him a job as a secret agent. Now he must fight crime while learning to use all the nifty top-secret gadgets in between keeping up his school work and home life.

Alecia Foster Thousands of children and their parents packed into the Glendale Galleria Sunday afternoon for Playhouse Disney -- Live! The 20-minute live stage show featured characters from many of the Disney Channel's Playhouse series of shows, including "Rolie Polie Olie," "PB & J Otter," and its newest show, "Stanley." Tony and Vivian of the new series "Out of the Box" emceed the event, which featured singing, dancing and storytelling. Event promoters said the event has drawn an average of 20,000 people a weekend.

Tim Willert, Weekend GLENDALE -- Richard Stanley's show business career has taken a turn for the better. A television writer whose credits include "Walker, Texas Ranger" and "Murder, She Wrote," Stanley recently discovered success writing and directing movies. The longtime Glendale resident wrote and directed "The Legend of Pirate's Point," which airs April 1 at 7:30 p.m. on the Disney Channel. The story is about three kids who encounter the town recluse and believe he is their favorite pirate.

Walt Disney Co. reported improved fourth-quarter earnings, buoyed by gains at Disney Channel and ESPN and at the Burbank company's theme parks. The entertainment giant reported net income of $1.08 billion for the quarter ending Oct. 1, a jump of 30% compared with a year earlier. Revenue also rose 7% to $10.4 billion.  Disney's media networks group, which includes the ABC television network and cable channels, continues to be a profit engine for Disney. Media networks posted operating income of $1.4 billion, a gain of 20% from a year earlier.

Programming giant Walt Disney Co. and pay-TV distributor Cablevision Systems Corp. have signed a wide-ranging agreement covering dozens of broadcast and cable channels including ABC , ESPN and Disney Channel. As part of the deal, Cablevision has also agreed to carry a news and lifestyle channel from ABC and Univision that is being launched next year. The channel is an English-language service aimed at Latinos. Cablevision will now also offer its subscribers the ability to watch ESPN, Disney Channel and other networks from tablet devices and phones both inside and outside the home.

Jackson Bell When Disney Channel scouts asked skateboarder James Rodriguez if he wanted to skate in a music video, he jumped at the chance. On Tuesday, the 42-year-old Glendale resident performed tricks at Glendale Skate Park in Verdugo Park while a production crew filmed the video for teen actor Kyle Massey's first movie, "Life is Ruff." The movie will debut July 15 on the Disney Channel. "So far, it's a cool experience, just a lot of hard work," Rodriguez said after skating in an empty pool as background for a photographer taking promotional shots of Massey posing.

You have heard Jess Harnell, Carlos Alazraqui and Gary Anthony Williams before, even if you've probably never heard of them. Maybe you've heard Harnell in one of the three "Toy Story" movies, or "Finding Nemo," or one of the other Disney-Pixar films in which his voice has appeared. You no doubt heard Alazraqui as the famed voice of the Taco Bell commercial Chihuahua intoning "Yo quiero Taco Bell!" And perhaps you heard Williams in the acclaimed animated series, "The Boondocks," giving voice to Uncle Ruckus.

Entertainment giant Walt Disney Co. has struck a deal allowing Comcast Corp. cable customers access to all of its popular channels - including ESPN, ABC, ABC Family and the Disney Channel - from portable devices and video-on-demand services. The expansive deal, announced Wednesday, will allow Comcast's more than 22 million cable customers who sign up for its Xfinity service to watch the Disney channels live or on-demand either while they are in their homes or on the go via their tablets or other portable devices.  This is the first time that Comcast has agreed to pay for local retransmission of ABC-owned TV stations. For the last three years, broadcasters have been negotiating with cable companies to pay for signals that they previously provided for free.

The Walt Disney Co. says it plans to launch a free, broadcast version of its popular Disney Channel in Russia next year, enabling the entertainment giant to deliver its family programming to about 40 million households in the increasingly important market. Disney will acquire a 49% stake in the Seven TV network, enabling it to air Disney Channel programming on broadcast stations in 54 urban markets, including Moscow and St. Petersburg, as well as in rural areas. "International expansion is a key strategic priority for our company and Disney Channel has proven to be invaluable in building the Disney brand around the world,” Disney Chief Executive Robert Iger said Thursday in a statement.

In a surprise move, Carolina Lightcap is leaving her position as president of Disney Channels Worldwide after just under two years on the job. The departure is the second high-profile exit from Walt Disney Co. Last week, Andy Mooney abruptly resigned as chairman for Disney Consumer Products. Things like the Over-Synthesized Lip Synch, the Wacky Spit-Take and the Caught-in-Awkward-Position-by-Parents Sprint. You hope your favorite wins, but it?s not so much about that as the fact that they all got together and even support each other; while winning is good, representing your channel and doing your best is what really matters.

Those who know Debby Ryan are familiar with her role as Bailey Pickett on Disney Channel’s original series “The Suite Life on Deck,” a spin-off of “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody.” But what most of her fans don’t know is she’s a photographer, collage artist, equestrian and has started a blog that features her interviews with bands, she said. “I’m super close to the equestrian center and go riding with my friends,” she said.
