FIRST ROUND Flintridge Prep 12, Dos Pueblos 6: Balance, in the form of six singles and six doubles victories, carried the Rebels to a first-round CIF Southern Section Division II playoff victory Thursday. Lauren Bateman, Dos Pueblos' No. 1 singles player, swept, but it wasn't enough. "I don't believe we'll run into a No. 1 player again like that," Flintridge Prep Coach Ron Catano said of Bateman. "She was just untouchable. [Going forward] we're just going to weight heavily on our singles and hopefully our doubles can just finish the load.
