ELSE 'MAMA' KATIN Else "Mama" Katin died Nov. 18, 2004, in Plano, Texas, where she moved from Glendale in 2003. She was 93. Mama Katin was born in Vienna, Austria on Nov. 16, 1911. She was a resident of Glendale for over 40 years. Mama Katin is survived by her daughter, Adina Magill; sons, Joe Katin and George Katin; and five grandchildren, Ronald Baraze, Joe Katin Jr., Katherine Katin, Gina Katin and Jackie Katin. Services will be private at Glendale Forest Lawn Memorial Park on Friday.

Jenna Bordelon Donna F. Damon, co-owner of the popular Damon's Steak House, has died. She was 76. She died in her sleep in Glendale on Jan. 20. The cause of death has not yet been determined. Damon grew up in Fairmont, Minn. and graduated from high school in 1941. In 1942, she moved to Glendale, where she met her husband, Loyal Damon Jr., while working in a local bank. Her husband's parents, Loyal and Mona Damon, opened Damon's Steak House in 1937.

May 22, 1916 ~ August 6, 2010 Irene passed away in Pleasanton, CA at the age of 94. Irene was a member of the African Violet Society, Glendale and Lockheed Employees Recreation and Garden Club, Burbank. Irene loved to dance and was active at the Joslyn Senior Center, Burbank, for over 20 years. Irene was preceded in death in 1976 by her husband; Glenn Reyman. She had one daughter, Carol Reyman Gibbons, two grandsons; Greg Gibbons and David (Robin) Gibbons, and 5 great grandchildren.

GEORGE DANIEL PEVERLEY JR. George Daniel Peverley Jr., 76, died June 17, 2003, in Longmont, Colo. He was born July 9, 1926, in Los Angeles and grew up in La Crescenta. He co-founded Pevrick Engineering in 1959, a company that manufactured aircraft and rocket parts. He also served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Peverley is survived by his children, Robert Peverley and Crystal Peterson; and six grandchildren. The funeral service is at noon Monday at the Little Church of the Flowers at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 1712 S. Glendale Ave. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Assn.

WILLIAM RODRIGUEZ William Rodriguez, 69, a longtime Glendale resident, died March 21, 2003. Mr. Rodriguez was born in 1934 in California. He is survived by his family. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 tonight. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. at Woods-Scovern Mortuary. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Hollywood Hills. MALYN ANDEREGG Malyn Anderegg, 61, a former longtime Glendale resident, died March 20, 2003.

GLENDALE -- Marjorie Brink Royce, a founding member of the Brink family of Brink's Inc., has died. She was 98. She died at midnight on Jan. 11, 2000. She was born in Chicago, and lived in Glendale for 70 years. She was married to Sherman J. Royce for 67 years. She and her husband joined The Glendale Camera Club and the Jewel City Camera Club together. They also were active members of the First United Methodist Church. She worked as a homemaker and mother.

Karen S. Kim SOUTHEAST GLENDALE -- Forest Lawn Memorial-Park, Glendale will host a service today for Jonathan J. Uman, who died on the 105th floor of the World Trade Center on Sept. 11. The service will commemorate the birthday of Uman, a managing director for Cantor Fitzgerald. He would have turned 34 on Monday. During the service, a bronze memorial tablet will be placed on the grave of Uman's grandfather, Arthur Uman, who died in 1980. The plaque's inscription will include the words: "Loving Grandfather of Jonathan J. Uman, He was the best of us."

CLARENCE 'ERNIE' JENSEN JR. Clarence "Ernie" Jensen Jr. died Aug. 1, 2002. He was born Oct. 11, 1923, in Glendale, and graduated from Glendale High School. During World War II, he enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps and received his wings in 1943. He was commissioned as 2nd lieutenant and assigned to the 44th Bomber Squadron in the Pacific, where he served two tours of duty. Mr. Jensen graduated from UCLA with a degree in industrial engineering.

Schiff Names New Aide Congressman Adam Schiff announced the appointment of Glendale native Vazken Kassakhan to the staff of his Washington office. Kassakian, a graduate of Crescenta Valley High School, is the brother of Glendale City Clerk Ardashes Kassakhian. Glendale Man Named Judge Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger announced the appointment of Glendale resident Richard S. Kemalyan to a judgeship in the Los Angeles County Superior Court. Kemalyan, 55, has served as a partner with the law firm of Dwyer, Daly, Brotzen and Bruno since 2000.
