Karen S. Kim DOWNTOWN -- Those hoping to get a jump on their holiday shopping Friday at the Glendale Galleria can expect live piano music to help shift them into the spirit of the season. Pianist Stephen Jacob will perform periodically between 11 a.m and 5 p.m., entertaining passersby with holiday classics. Jacob is a classical and jazz pianist who has composed and performed solo and ensemble music for 14 recordings, including music for relaxation, meditation and children.

Kim SOUTHEAST GLENDALE -- The Glendale Galleria is offering its annual "Boo Bash," in which children 12 years and younger are invited to dress in their Halloween finest and trick-or-treat from store to store inside the mall. The "Boo Bash" takes place from 5 to 7 tonight. All Galleria merchants will be distributing candy for the event, and candy booths will also be set up inside the mall. The event is designed to be a "safe trick-or-treating" experience, said Annette Bethers, senior marketing director for the Galleria.

Glendale Galleria: A man told police someone slashed his car tires Sunday while it was in a parking structure. 1700 block of North Verdugo Road: A 43-year-old Glendale man was arrested Sunday on suspicion of choking his wife.

Amber Willard GLENDALE GALLERIA -- Glendale Police have arrested two suspects but are looking for the victim in an alleged assault in the food court at the Glendale Galleria. The man was reportedly attacked by the two men shortly before 9:30 p.m. Monday when he was punched and kicked. Police arrested the two 22-year-old men from Glendale and Los Angeles, but the victim disappeared, officials said. One of the men arrested dropped a handgun from his pocket during a struggle with officers and the other had a knife, police said.

Alecia Foster GLENDALE GALLERIA -- The creation of a Shi-Tro sand mandala in the Glendale Galleria has been delayed. The Tibetan Lamas, who were expected to begin work on the mandala on Thursday, have been delayed due problems with visas, said Linda Maxwell, co-founder of We Care for Youth, a sponsor of the project. The lamas were expected to arrive within the next week, although no date has yet been given. Those attending the mandala workshop on Saturday afternoon created their own personal mandalas, or a spiritual work of art used for worship, out of paper.

Glendale Galleria: A woman was arrested Thursday for shoplifting six bottles of perfume worth $484 from Sephora in the Glendale Galleria. 1500 block of Irving Avenue: A man reported that his driver's side rear passenger window was shattered by a rock. 1000 block of Justin Avenue: A man reported that his right rear window was shattered and a car stereo and cell phone worth $275 and $50 were stolen.

The following were taken from reports filed at the Glendale Police Department: ? ? 6 00 block of Alta Vista Drive : A 19-year-old Glendale man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of possessing concentrated cannabis. ? 200 block of South Central Avenue : A Glendale man reported Friday that he lost his wallet, which contained $50 in cash and credit cards, in the Glendale Galleria. ? 300 block of West Colorado Street: A Burbank woman reported Friday that her wallet was stolen while she was shopping at the Glendale Galleria.

The Prom Style 2000 Fashion Show will give teens a preview of what's new in prom gowns, tuxedos, shoes and accessories. The event begins at 1 p.m. in the mall's Center Court. The fashion show will be hosted by Seventeen Magazine editors. The pop country music group 3 of Hearts, featuring Katie, 17, Deserea, 16, and Blaire, 16, will perform their new single "It Happened To Me."

Ryan Carter GLENDALE GALLERIA -- A fire caused by an open-flame tool igniting grease in a duct system broke out Monday at the Hawaiian BBQ Express in the food court at Glendale Galleria. No one was hurt in the fire, which started around 8 a.m. Monday, Capt. Ron Stanick of Glendale Fire Engine 21 said. Plumes of smoke could be seen rising above the Galleria. At the time the fire broke out, employees were putting in an access door so they could better clean away grease in the duct area.

Marshall Allen GLENDALE GALLERIA -- Streets near the corner of Broadway and Orange Street were blocked by police officers as firefightersinspected smoke on the 12th floor of the Glendale Galleria high-rise office building Tuesday afternoon. A call came to the Fire Department at 3:52 p.m. and five battalions from stations 21, 22, 25 and 26 responded to 100 W. Broadway.
