Jackson Bell Luis Aranda is fed up with risking his life just to walk to work. Aranda, a clerk at the 7-Eleven at 843 W. Glenoaks Blvd., said he has been nearly hit several times while crossing Glenoaks Boulevard by speeding drivers running red lights. And even one of his regular customers has been hit twice in six months when pulling out of the convenience store's parking lot. "All these people trying to beat the red light or kids speeding really make me feel unsafe," he said.

Kudos to M. Bernard Williams for his commentary in the Jan. 22 edition of the Glendale News-Press. He is absolutely right about more enforcement of the speed limit on our city streets. I am going to add some items he left out. Drivers are changing lanes on surface streets without signaling before they change lanes or do so when they are halfway into the lane they've chosen. This is bad enough, but worse on freeways where the speed limit is higher, and the risk goes up!
