LA CRESCENTA — Foothill residents who defied mandatory evacuation notices this weekend and into Monday continued to vex public safety officials who said the decision to stay home and monitor the ever-growing Station fire was a dangerous one with potentially deadly consequences. On Saturday night, about a dozen residents in the Brigg’s Terrace stayed behind in an attempt to monitor and protect their houses. And those living on the outskirts of the evacuation area said that they didn’t see an immediate danger.
