Gretchen Hoffman SOUTHEAST GLENDALE -- Glendale Police are looking for a man who robbed an auto repair shop at gunpoint and made off with more than $24,000 in cash. An employee at AAMCO Transmissions, 1444 E. Colorado St., was locking up the shop for the day when he went back inside and found a man standing next to the counter, according to the police report. The man pointed a gun at him and demanded the money from the cash drawer, police said.

Buck Wargo GLENDALE -- Glendale Police are continuing their search for a gunman who shot at a car carrying five Glendale teenagers on Friday, wounding the driver, authorities said. One of the teens, 17, is in good condition at the medical ward of the Los Angeles County Jail where he is being held on suspicion of robbery. A bullet grazed his head but the wound was stitched up and is not considered serious, said Glendale Police spokesman Sgt. Rick Young.

A paper bag that broke foiled an armed robbery attempt on a quiet Sparr Heights street last Friday night. According to a Glendale police report, a resident of the 3500 block of Downing Avenue was walking home from a trip to the market to buy ice cream July 29 when he was met by a man with a gun who demanded the shopper's money. According to the report, the victim was walking home near Broadview Drive and Market Street at about 9:30 p.m., after purchasing the ice cream, when the man approached with a silver, semiautomatic pistol.

Josh Kleinbaum Authorities were still searching Tuesday for the shooter in an incident early Sunday that left Thomas Johnson-Blasucci, a senior at La Canada High School, in critical condition. Johnson-Blasucci, a 6-foot-2, 240-pound lineman for La Canada High School's football team, was shot in the face after a fight erupted at a post-prom party. Doctors at Huntington Memorial Hospital operated to remove all or part of the bullet on Monday, and the 18-year-old's condition was upgraded Tuesday, according to students and investigators.

Jackson Bell and Darleene Barrientos Police are searching for an armed man who attempted to rob a Blockbuster on Saturday morning before the video store opened. The man, carrying a handgun in his waistband, approached a Blockbuster employee at about 9:15 a.m. while the worker was opening the store on Foothill Boulevard in La Canada Flintridge, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Sgt. Don Hudalla said. Pretending to be lost, the suspect asked the employee to point out directions on a map, Hudalla said.

Jorge Beeton, 47, died Thursday of multiple gunshot wounds after he held off Glendale and Burbank police departments' special response teams with a semiautomatic assault rifle for nearly five hours. Authorities were trying to determine Friday if Beeton's wounds were self-inflicted or from police gunfire.

PASADENA — A store clerk testified in Pasadena Superior Court on Tuesday that she saw two alleged Burbank gang members fighting with a Glendale man two years ago, and that one of them then followed him into the store and fired eight gunshots. Nubia Verdin said she hid behind the front counter at the American Market just after 10 p.m. on Sept. 21, 2007, when the shots rang out. After looking up from behind the counter and seeing red matter splattered throughout the market, she ran to the man, who was identified as Enrique Pinela.

A masked gunman made off with an undisclosed amount of cash after holding up a 7-Eleven in Glendale early Monday morning. An employee was cleaning behind the counter about 3:50 a.m. inside the store in the 800 block of West Glenoaks Boulevard when he heard the front door open, according to Glendale Police Department reports. The robber then popped up from below the counter, pointed a handgun at the employee and demanded cash, police said. After the employee handed over the money, the robber fled the scene, Sgt. Tom Lorenz said.

Authorities on Saturday identified two men killed in a workplace shooting at a Southern California Edison office in Irwindale, as well as the gunman, who investigators said was a co-worker. Robert Scott Lindsay, 53, of Chino Hills and Henry Serrano, 56, of Walnut were killed Friday when Andre Turner, 48, of Norco opened fire in the office with a semiautomatic handgun, then took his own life. Two others, Angela Alvarez, 46, of Glendale, an Edison employee, and Abhay Pimpale, 38, of Montebello, a contract worker, were wounded and in critical condition.

Buck Wargo GLENDALE -- Glendale Police were helping Los Angeles Police look for a gunman in connection with a freeway shooting. Police were searching a Glendale neighborhood near San Fernando Road and Irving Avenue near the border with Burbank. About 8:20 p.m., a Los Angeles Police Department officer reported seeing gunshots between two cars on the Golden State (5) Freeway near Los Feliz Road in Los Angeles, Burbank Police Department Sgt. Kevin Krafft said.
