The following are updates on local athletes at the collegiate level. Antonio Garrett (Glendale Community College, 2012) College of Idaho basketball senior: Garrett played a crucial role, scoring 18 points on Saturday as Idaho rallied from 22 points down to defeat Northwest, 93-80, in its regular-season finale. Garrett, a senior forward who added four rebounds, was eight of nine from the floor and sank both of his free throws, while Demetrius Perkins, another former GCC player who starts for Idaho, scored seven points to go with six assists, three rebounds and two steals.

Antonio Garrett (Glendale Community College, 2012) College of Idaho men's basketball senior: Things have been going quite well for Garrett and the Yotes, who moved up two notches to sixth in the latest NAIA Division II Top 25 Coaches' Poll. Heading into Friday, College of Idaho is 21-5 and 12-2 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference and it's the highest it's been in the poll since a fifth-place spot in 2005.

Harry Stuart Tupper, 86, of La Crescenta and Glendale, died Saturday, August 18, 2013 at his summer residence at Henry's Lake, Idaho. The family will have memorial services at a later date at Henry's Lake. Arrangements are under the direction of Baxter Funeral Home in Ashton, Idaho.

FLORENCE CONBOY Florence Conboy, 86, died Feb. 18, 2003. She was born Sept. 23, 1916, in Ashton, Idaho. Prior to retiring, she was an accountant for 35 years with the Probation Department of Los Angeles County. She is survived by her sisters, Jo Anne Matkin of Pocatello, Idaho, Vera Floyd of Nampa, Idaho, and Laura Thornton of Boise, Idaho; brothers, William Van Sickle of Pocatello, Idaho and Lee Van Sickle of Alaska. Her husband, Alvin Bud Conboy, three sisters and four brothers died before her. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Glendale 3rd Ward Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1130 E. Wilson St. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn, Glendale.

Wilkinson -- Belsher Patricia Wilkinson and Aaron Belsher, both of Boise, Idaho, were married at The Castaway in Burbank. The Rev. Robert Bock officiated. Jane Wilkinson was the maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Brenda Nelson and Sarah Berglund. Ben Belsher was the best man. The groomsmen were Jared Belsher and Matt Wilkinson. The reception followed at The Castaway. The couple took a honeymoon trip to Maui, Hawaii, and are living in Boise, Idaho.

Debby Esterly Orne   Debra “Debby” Suzann Esterly Orne passed away April 18 in Spokane, Washington, at the age of 44, following a brief illness. Debby was born in Glendale, Calif. on August 28, 1966, and lived in La Canada until the age of 14. She attended Mountain Avenue Elementary and Rosemont Junior High School.  Her family, Dave and Peggy Esterly and brother Rick, relocated to Spirit Lake, Idaho in 1980.  Debby graduated from Lakeland High School in Rathdrum, Idaho, and received her AA degree from Kinman College in Spokane, Washington.  She married Russell Orne on October 27, 2001.

Daniel Ledden O'Brien of Kuna, Idaho passed away peacefully at home with his beloved wife by his side on Saturday October 16th, 2010. A Memorial Service will be held at Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel, Boise, Idaho on October 28, 2010, at 7:00 p.m. Daniel was born June 27, 1937 in Oakland, California to Daniel and Cora Alice O'Brien the 2nd of two children.  Daniel attended Oakland High School, Oakland CA and University High School in West L.A., CA.  Upon completion of high school Dan received a scholarship to UCLA to play football.

Howard DeWitt Swainston   Howard DeWitt Swainston , 84, died peacefully at his Eagle, Idaho home early Tuesday morning, February 22, 2011, surrounded by his loving family.  He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.   Howard, also known as De, was born December 10, 1926 in Whitney, Idaho to Howard "Slim" and Neva Parkinson Swainston .  He was raised on the family farm.  He developed his musical talent in piano and voice.  Howard was also a high school basketball star pursuing a keen interest of his father.

Gregg Kenneth Tipton 1954 - 2011 Longtime Steamboat Springs resident Gregg “Bomar” Tipton died Jan. 25, 2011, after a month-long illness. Gregg was at the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland when he passed quietly with his wife, Michelle Isaeff, and 16-year old son, Zeb Tipton, at his side. He was 56. Gregg was born Oct. 11, 1954, in Hollywood, Calif. He lived in La Cresenta, Calif., until age 5 with his father, Kenneth Amestoy Tipton; mother, Nancy Jean Allen; and sister, Jill Alison Tipton.

Delmain Kunz got on his first horse when he was about 3 years old. Eighty-three years later, Kunz, a Glendale resident, still enjoys a good horse show — after a lifetime of performing in them and of raising the animals that star in them. A native of Idaho, Kunz worked on his family’s farm and made a living as a rodeo cowboy. When he was 17, Kunz took part in rodeo competitions and earned a wage that helped support his family. Kunz rode horses in competitions for about 10 years and, when he moved to California, he raised horses.
