Darleene Barrientos Four men were arrested Friday on suspicion of committing lewd acts and exposing themselves in a public restroom, and a Glendale woman faces charges of prostitution in an unrelated case. Plainclothes Glendale Police vice/narcotics detectives took turns entering a second-floor restroom adjacent to the children and infants section in JC Penney, 333 W. Colorado St., where men were seen exposing themselves to others, Glendale Police Investigator Patrick Magtoto said.

Alecia Foster NORTHEAST GLENDALE -- Hundreds of teens are expected to flock to the Glendale Galleria Thursday in hopes of becoming a model for a day. Seventeen magazine will host the event, which will feature the winners in a prom fashion show on Saturday. "What we look for is a certain energy on stage," said Jennifer Maguire, publicist for the magazine. There are no height or weight requirements for the search and both young men and women between 13 and 21 years old are being sought, she said.

The following information was taken from police reports: 900 block of East Lomita Avenue: A Glendale man reported Tuesday that his 1999 Honda Civic was stolen. 333 W. Colorado St.: A 45-year-old Glendale woman and her 16-year-old daughter were arrested Monday on suspicion of stealing underwear from JC Penney and Mervyn's. 333 W. Colorado St.: A 20-year-old Los Angeles man and a 26-year-old Los Angeles man were arrested Monday on suspicion of stealing clothes from JC Penney.

The following incidents were taken from police reports. 1200 block of South Central Avenue: A 1989 Toyota Camry was reported stolen from a parking lot between on Tuesday. 100 block of North Brand Boulevard: Starbucks reported receiving two counterfeit $20 bills on Tuesday. 1000 block of Newby Street: A man reported Tuesday an automated trash can, valued at $66, was stolen in April. 300 block of West Colorado Street: Two Los Angeles women, ages 21 and 24, were arrested Tuesday afternoon at JC Penney on suspicion of petty theft.

An 18-year-old Los Angeles man faces charges today of battering and kidnapping his girlfriend after allegedly carrying her against her will through the Glendale Galleria, out of JC Penney and to his car. She was able to escape. David Baez was arrested Monday after witnesses told police he punched a man flirting with his girlfriend, with whom he has two children, according to a police report. Baez hit his girlfriend and carried her out of her work at Kids Music Box, as she struggled with him and yelled for help, police said.

Leon Riley passed away on March 6th from complications following a fall. Leon is survived by his wife of 69 years, Joyce, daughters Jeanette and Marsha, son Jim, ten grandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren. Two daughters, Cheryl and Brenda, preceded him in death. After a stint in the Navy during WWII, Leon and Joyce moved to California in 1947 and worked for the JC Penney Co. He later became manager of the Penney store in downtown Burbank. In 1960, Leon started a career in real estate that lasted over 50 years.

Colorado St.: A 35-year-old Los Angeles man was arrested Monday on suspicion of taking clothing from JC Penney without paying.

Gretchen Hoffman Internet sites abound telling men the best spots to visit while "cruising" for sex with other men -- and which ones to avoid -- and several local spots make the list. One of those is a bathroom in the Glendale Galleria, where Glendale Police officers have been catching violators for years. Officers responded to a men's bathroom near the children's department of JC Penney after someone called and said two men were having sexual relations in the bathroom July 3. A 19-year-old Apple Valley man was arrested on suspicion of touching himself while looking under a stall door at an undercover officer.
