Erik Boal NORTH HOLLYWOOD -- It was Amy Brunton's pool, and everyone else just swam in it. With the painful memories of last year's loss in the CIF Southern Section Division III semifinals serving as her motivation, the Crescenta Valley High senior goalkeeper owned the cage, and Harvard-Westlake, from the opening whistle to the final horn Wednesday. Shouting instructions that could've been heard in Studio City, leading counterattacks with many a pool-length pass to Megan Winchell and intimidating the Wolverines with numerous point-blank stops, Brunton was in her element as the Falcon girls' water polo team earned a sweet measure of revenge with 6-3 nonleague road victory.
