She stands near a well on the grounds of the city's second-oldest adobe at 1330 Dorothy Drive. Bullock was the great-granddaughter of Jose Maria Verdugo, who once owned all the land on which Glendale now sits. Bullock was honored as the Days of Verdugo grand marshal in 1981, when she was 99. For years, the historic adobe built in 1860 by Teodoro Verdugo has been hidden away in the Verdugo Woodlands.
