Allison Fors, daughter of Dennis and Linda Fors of La Cañada and Rodrigo Guillen, son of Darby and Maria Guillen of Highland, Utah were married this past summer at the Newport Beach Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A reception followed at the City Club on Bunker Hill in Los Angeles. Both are graduates of Brigham Young University where the bride received a bachelor's degree in public relations and the groom received a bachelor's degree in corporate finance.

KENNETH MIDDLETON CORBETT Kenneth Middleton Corbett, 76, died Nov. 6, 2003, in Sunland. He was born May 2, 1927, in San Francisco and was a resident of La Crescenta for 55 years. Mr. Corbett is survived by his daughter, Britta Dorn. A memorial service will begin at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4550 Raymond St., La Crescenta. Crippen Mortuary is in charge of direction. ELIZABETH CHRISTINE O'BRIEN Elizabeth Christine O'Brien, 80, died Oct. 25, 2003, in Glendale.

Adam Michael Sheffield, the son of Matt and Linda Sheffield of Glendale, received the rank of Eagle Scout. He is a member of Troop 106 of the Verdugo Hills Council Boy Scouts of America. For his Eagle Scout project, Adam did a blood drive for the American Red Cross. He collected 46 pints of blood. Adam received several scouting honors, including On My Honor, Mile Swim and the 50-miler Afoot/Afloat. Adam was home-schooled until he passed the California Proficiency Exam at 16 and entered Glendale Community College.

1931 - 2004 Barbara Brooks Moffat, who lived most of her life in La Crescenta, died Tuesday of cancer. She was 72. Moffat was born Oct. 6, 1931 in Covina and grew up in Highland Park. She earned a bachelor's degree in music from UCLA and taught flute for 25 years. She is survived by her sons, Jeff Moffat of La Crescenta, and Clark Moffat of Fallbrook, Calif.; daughters Betsy Woodall and Kathleen Tobler, both of Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.; and brother Charles Brooks of Riverside.

1924-2004 Former longtime La Crescentan Gordon Howard Moffat died June 7 in North Hollywood. He was 79 years old. Gordon was born August 12, 1924, in Los Angeles and called La Crescenta home for most of his adult life. He served in the U.S. Navy in 1954. An orthodontist, he practiced his profession for 40 years. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 18, at the chapel of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 4550 Raymond Ave. in La Crescenta.

FLORENCE CONBOY Florence Conboy, 86, died Feb. 18, 2003. She was born Sept. 23, 1916, in Ashton, Idaho. Prior to retiring, she was an accountant for 35 years with the Probation Department of Los Angeles County. She is survived by her sisters, Jo Anne Matkin of Pocatello, Idaho, Vera Floyd of Nampa, Idaho, and Laura Thornton of Boise, Idaho; brothers, William Van Sickle of Pocatello, Idaho and Lee Van Sickle of Alaska. Her husband, Alvin Bud Conboy, three sisters and four brothers died before her. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Glendale 3rd Ward Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1130 E. Wilson St. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn, Glendale.

Peterson -- Carpenter Emily Beth Peterson of Bakersfield and Kenny Carpenter of La Crescenta were married in the Los Angeles Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Santa Monica. A reception was shared with family and friends at the Oakmont Country Club. For their honeymoon, the couple traveled to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. They are living in Provo, Utah. The bride is the daughter of Becky Peterson of Bakersfield and the late Kenneth Peterson.

Former La Cañadan David Thomas Mohorc died Aug. 9 at his home in Newhall at the age of 62. His death was attributed to liver cancer. He was born February 7, 1943 in St. Louis, Mo. He served in United States Marine Corps for four years, and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. David called La Cañada Flintridge home for 22 years. For nearly four decades he was involved construction. He was also a coach of Glendale All American Football and Glendale Girls Little League Softball.
