CITY HALL ? Planning commissioners Wednesday upheld an earlier city decision to prevent a chiropractic business from expanding its massage services, citing the location?s ?troubling? history of prostitution-related citations and arrests. The operators of K&P Health Care Corporation at 1610 Colorado St. wanted to modify their conditional-use permit to allow walk-in massage clients without a referral from a medical professional, such as a chiropractor or acupuncturist. But the Planning Commission on Wednesday reaffirmed an earlier city decision to deny the request amid fears that easing the restrictions could pave the way for a full-on massage parlor, which would require a different permit.

Linda LaZar Hair styling is an art. Anyone can hack off locks of hair and call it a haircut, but a truly good haircut is styled and artistically designed. There's a new, full-service salon in Glendale called Skin Deep Studio, and I was impressed to learn that the watercolor paintings displayed at the salon were painted by one of the hair stylists. I believe the value of developing an artistic eye is often underestimated these days. We're seeing less funding for art and music in schools and yet more demand for it in our daily lives through the use of computer graphics and the Internet.

Once Linda Jun allegedly started to fulfill that part of the contract, she was arrested, Glendale Police Sgt. Scott Johnstone said.
