A La Crescenta couple were arrested Sunday after officers found a physician's prescription notepads inside their home, police said. Police wound up at the home after they pulled over Sevak Mesrobian, 34, and found methamphetamine inside his car. Once at the home in the 3200 block of Altura Avenue, Mesrobian and Sofi Machandjyan, 31, were taken into custody when police found that prescriptions had been written out to Machandjyan for the painkiller...

A 32-year-old reputed gang member was arrested just after midnight Tuesday on suspicion of selling methamphetamine in Glendale with his ill 2-year-old son in tow, police said. Eric Lopez of El Monte was taken into custody on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine for sale and child neglect, according to Glendale police. Police said the child was ill and was not properly dressed for cold weather, so paramedics took him to Huntington Memorial Hospital. When officers detained Lopez, they also noticed the boy had defecated on himself and smelled like vomit, police said.

An unpaid taxicab fare led police to a motel room where they arrested two men and recovered multiple stolen items, officials said this week. The men - Hmayak Kurazyan, 27, of Glendale, and 31-year-old transient Michael Medina - pleaded not guilty Tuesday to separate charges stemming from their Jan. 13 arrest, according to Jane Robison, spokeswoman of the Los Angeles County district attorney's office. Kurazyan faces three felony counts of second-degree vehicle burglary, a felony count of receiving stolen property, a felony count of possessing methamphetamine, a misdemeanor count of possessing burglary tools and one misdemeanor count of petty theft, according to a Los Angeles County Superior Court criminal complaint.

Glendale police arrested a 40-year-old man after they seized roughly $2 million in methamphetamine and cocaine from a Santa Ana home after developing information about a large-scale sales operation, officials said Monday. Rigoberto Gil, 40, pleaded not guilty Monday to three felony counts of possessing methamphetamine and cocaine for sale, one felony count for transporting the drugs, another felony count for possessing the drugs and an AK-47 at the same time and four felony counts for possessing assault rifles - including the AK-47, two assault rifles and a Colt AR-15 rifle, according to a Los Angeles County Superior Court criminal complaint.

A 30-year-old San Gabriel man was arrested this week after police discovered a half-pound of methamphetamine inside a cardboard box and more than $5,000 in cash inside his car, officials said. Binh Ly, a reputed gang member on probation for narcotics, was taken into custody about 11:16 p.m. Monday at Broadway and Pacific Avenue, according to Glendale Police Department reports. After police stopped him, Ly allegedly admitted to officers that he had a half-pound of methamphetamine and $5,320 inside his car, according to reports.

Police arrested three men on Monday after allegedly finding more than $400,000 worth of drugs, including opium, heroin and methamphetamine, inside their Los Angeles apartment. Brian Garcia, 25, Erick Gastelum, 28, and Jose Garcia, 50, were taken into custody about 4 p.m. on suspicion of possessing drugs for sale, Glendale police Sgt. Tom Lorenz said. “They ran the gamut when it came to the drugs,” he said. Narcotics detectives seized 20 pounds of opium, two pounds of heroin, 1 1/2 pounds of methamphetamine, a pound of marijuana and a gram of cocaine inside their apartment in the 6600 block of North Figueroa Street, Lorenz said.

A group of men and women, including two parolees, was arrested this week after police allegedly found stolen identification and Social Security cards inside their hotel room, officials said. Jose Arviso, 35, Christine Sanchez, 33, Robert Peregrina, 24, and Silvia Medina, 33, all of Los Angeles, were staying at the Glen Capri Inn & Suites Monday in the 300 block of Colorado Street, where officers reported finding the cards, stolen checks, plastic baggies with remnants of methamphetamine and a revolver, according to Glendale police reports.

A 23-year-old man on probation for carjacking was arrested Monday after he allegedly helped two women try to steal merchandise from the Macy's at the Glendale Galleria and resisted officers, police said. Wilson Moreno allegedly struggled with police officers after they found a baggy containing a Versace card and methamphetamine inside his pant pocket and tried to arrest him. Moreno tried to break free from police restraints, prompting him and an officer to fall to the ground, according to police reports.
