Darleene Barrientos Acting on anonymous tips, Glendale Police vice/narcotics detectives arrested two men they believe sold methamphetamine to drug users in the city. Charles McEldowney, 35, of Hollywood was charged Friday on suspicion of transporting and selling methamphetamine, Investigator Joe Allen said. Allen and Investigator Patrick Magtoto searched McEldowney's apartment in Hollywood on Wednesday and found half an ounce of methamphetamine with a street value of $1,400 and more than $2,000 in cash.

methamphetamine A Glendale man has pleaded not guilty after being accused of giving away methamphetamine from the gas station where he worked. Shumon Islam, 28, was arrested Friday after Glendale Police officers received an anonymous tip that someone was allegedly selling drugs out of the Mobil gas station at 1700 W. Glenoaks Blvd., Glendale Police Investigator Joe Allen said. After the department received the tip, patrol officers stopped a car coming from the station and found the passengers had methamphetamine, Allen said.

The following were taken from daily booking reports from the Glendale Police Department. 600 block of East Colorado Street Armand Grkasharyan, 46, was arrested Sept. 30 on suspicion of making criminal threats. 300 block of Howard Street Viva Karamanoukian, 37, was arrested Sept. 30 on suspicion of spousal assault. 1500 block of East Colorado Street Bertha Vazques, 21, was arrested Sept. 30 on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine for sale and an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in court or pay a fine.

The following information was taken from police reports: 1500 E. Colorado St.: A 33-year-old Tujunga man was arrested Thursday on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine. 400 block of South Brand Boulevard: A 47-year-old Glendale man reported Thursday that a cellphone worth $200 was stolen from his 2001 BMW sedan. Burchett Street and Central Avenue: A 23-year-old Glendale woman reported Thursday that a laptop and briefcase worth $2,200 were stolen from her 2005 Ford Escape.

Gretchen Hoffman MONTROSE -- Glendale narcotics officers searching a Montrose apartment found a stash of drug paraphernalia and arrested four others who showed up while they were there, police said. Officers found methamphetamine paraphernalia, marijuana and scales inside an apartment at the intersection of Montrose and Pennsylvania avenues on Tuesday, Investigator Manny Fernandez said. On the back porch, they found methamphetamine being converted to its crystallized form, Fernandez said.

North Kenwood Street and East Wilson Avenue Nelson Gonzalez, 57, was arrested Oct. 8 on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. 300 block of Riverdale Drive Francisco Rodriguez, 40, was arrested Oct. 8 on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine. 500 block of Granada Street Roy Smith, 53, was arrested Oct. 8 on suspicion of spousal assault. North Central Avenue and West Wilson Avenue Maria Torres, 30, was arrested Oct. 8 on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance for sale.

A group of men and women, including two parolees, was arrested this week after police allegedly found stolen identification and Social Security cards inside their hotel room, officials said. Jose Arviso, 35, Christine Sanchez, 33, Robert Peregrina, 24, and Silvia Medina, 33, all of Los Angeles, were staying at the Glen Capri Inn & Suites Monday in the 300 block of Colorado Street, where officers reported finding the cards, stolen checks, plastic baggies with remnants of methamphetamine and a revolver, according to Glendale police reports.

A 23-year-old man on probation for carjacking was arrested Monday after he allegedly helped two women try to steal merchandise from the Macy's at the Glendale Galleria and resisted officers, police said. Wilson Moreno allegedly struggled with police officers after they found a baggy containing a Versace card and methamphetamine inside his pant pocket and tried to arrest him. Moreno tried to break free from police restraints, prompting him and an officer to fall to the ground, according to police reports.

AREA 1 East Colorado Street and South Glendale Avenue Steven Zeltner, 58, was arrested Nov. 14 on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. 500 block of South Pacific Avenue Luis Abrica, 27, was arrested Nov. 15 on an outstanding warrant for possessing drug paraphernalia. East Chevy Chase Drive and Glendale (2) Freeway Jesus Alvarado, 27, was arrested Nov. 15 on suspicion of driving on a suspended or revoked license.
