Darleene Barrientos Police busted up a suspected methamphetamine lab in a Glendale apartment, authorities said. Police received a tip that someone living in an apartment in the 700 block of East Acacia Avenue was allegedly selling drugs and obtained a search warrant, said Officer Maribel Sumner of the Glendale Police Department's vice/narcotics detail. In the apartment Thursday, police found a half-pound of methamphetamine and various amounts of cocaine, marijuana and Ecstasy pills, Sumner said.

Colorado Street and Fischer Street A 30-year-old man was arrested Oct. 26 on suspicion of receiving stolen property. Windsor Road and Pepper Way A 22-year-old man was arrested Oct. 26 on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, driving on a suspended or revoked license, theft of lost property, and an outstanding warrant for violating a promise to appear in court or pay a fine.

methamphetamine A Glendale man has pleaded not guilty after being accused of giving away methamphetamine from the gas station where he worked. Shumon Islam, 28, was arrested Friday after Glendale Police officers received an anonymous tip that someone was allegedly selling drugs out of the Mobil gas station at 1700 W. Glenoaks Blvd., Glendale Police Investigator Joe Allen said. After the department received the tip, patrol officers stopped a car coming from the station and found the passengers had methamphetamine, Allen said.

Colorado St.: A 33-year-old Tujunga man was arrested Thursday on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine. 400 block of South Brand Boulevard: A 47-year-old Glendale man reported Thursday that a cellphone worth $200 was stolen from his 2001 BMW sedan. Burchett Street and Central Avenue: A 23-year-old Glendale woman reported Thursday that a laptop and briefcase worth $2,200 were stolen from her 2005 Ford Escape.

Gretchen Hoffman MONTROSE -- Glendale narcotics officers searching a Montrose apartment found a stash of drug paraphernalia and arrested four others who showed up while they were there, police said. Officers found methamphetamine paraphernalia, marijuana and scales inside an apartment at the intersection of Montrose and Pennsylvania avenues on Tuesday, Investigator Manny Fernandez said. On the back porch, they found methamphetamine being converted to its crystallized form, Fernandez said.

Prosecutors on Monday charged a Glendale man for allegedly possessing 15 pounds of methamphetamine, which were found inside a Long Beach home. Mario Cuellar, 25, and another man, 50-year-old Frank Gutierrez of Reseda, face a felony charge of possessing methamphetamine in connection with Dec. 12 drug seizure, according to a Los Angeles County Superior Court criminal complaint. Cuellar is also charged with allegedly transporting and selling the drug. Glendale narcotics detectives were conducting a drug investigation when they saw two vehicles pull into a store parking lot on Firestone Boulevard in Norwalk, Glendale police spokeswoman Tahnee Lightfoot said.

Two San Jose men pleaded not guilty Tuesday to transporting an estimated $2 million worth of methamphetamine that was sniffed out by a Glendale police dog during a routine patrol stop Friday, officials said. Carlos Gutierrez and Andres Perez, both 36, were charged Tuesday with one felony count each of sale or transportation of a controlled substance along with an allegation that the drugs exceeded 10 kilograms, according to Jane Robison, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County district attorney's office.

A La Crescenta couple were arrested Sunday after officers found a physician's prescription notepads inside their home, police said. Police wound up at the home after they pulled over Sevak Mesrobian, 34, and found methamphetamine inside his car. Once at the home in the 3200 block of Altura Avenue, Mesrobian and Sofi Machandjyan, 31, were taken into custody when police found that prescriptions had been written out to Machandjyan for the painkiller...

A 32-year-old reputed gang member was arrested just after midnight Tuesday on suspicion of selling methamphetamine in Glendale with his ill 2-year-old son in tow, police said. Eric Lopez of El Monte was taken into custody on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine for sale and child neglect, according to Glendale police. Police said the child was ill and was not properly dressed for cold weather, so paramedics took him to Huntington Memorial Hospital. When officers detained Lopez, they also noticed the boy had defecated on himself and smelled like vomit, police said.

An unpaid taxicab fare led police to a motel room where they arrested two men and recovered multiple stolen items, officials said this week. The men - Hmayak Kurazyan, 27, of Glendale, and 31-year-old transient Michael Medina - pleaded not guilty Tuesday to separate charges stemming from their Jan. 13 arrest, according to Jane Robison, spokeswoman of the Los Angeles County district attorney's office. Kurazyan faces three felony counts of second-degree vehicle burglary, a felony count of receiving stolen property, a felony count of possessing methamphetamine, a misdemeanor count of possessing burglary tools and one misdemeanor count of petty theft, according to a Los Angeles County Superior Court criminal complaint.

Glendale police arrested a 40-year-old man after they seized roughly $2 million in methamphetamine and cocaine from a Santa Ana home after developing information about a large-scale sales operation, officials said Monday. Rigoberto Gil, 40, pleaded not guilty Monday to three felony counts of possessing methamphetamine and cocaine for sale, one felony count for transporting the drugs, another felony count for possessing the drugs and an AK-47 at the same time and four felony counts for possessing assault rifles - including the AK-47, two assault rifles and a Colt AR-15 rifle, according to a Los Angeles County Superior Court criminal complaint.

A 30-year-old San Gabriel man was arrested this week after police discovered a half-pound of methamphetamine inside a cardboard box and more than $5,000 in cash inside his car, officials said. Binh Ly, a reputed gang member on probation for narcotics, was taken into custody about 11:16 p.m. Monday at Broadway and Pacific Avenue, according to Glendale Police Department reports. After police stopped him, Ly allegedly admitted to officers that he had a half-pound of methamphetamine and $5,320 inside his car, according to reports.

Police arrested three men on Monday after allegedly finding more than $400,000 worth of drugs, including opium, heroin and methamphetamine, inside their Los Angeles apartment. Brian Garcia, 25, Erick Gastelum, 28, and Jose Garcia, 50, were taken into custody about 4 p.m. on suspicion of possessing drugs for sale, Glendale police Sgt. Tom Lorenz said. “They ran the gamut when it came to the drugs,” he said. Narcotics detectives seized 20 pounds of opium, two pounds of heroin, 1 1/2 pounds of methamphetamine, a pound of marijuana and a gram of cocaine inside their apartment in the 6600 block of North Figueroa Street, Lorenz said.
