The following incidents were taken from police reports. 3800 block of Mayfield Avenue: A 31-year-old La Crescenta man was arrested Monday on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. 1500 block of East Colorado Street: A 29-year-old Los Angeles man was arrested Monday on suspicion of stealing a car. 300 block of North Louise Street: A 42-year-old Glendale man was arrested Monday on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine.

GLENDALE — A statewide crackdown on methamphetamine traffickers will extend to Glendale as the Police Department makes room for a new liaison to a regional task force. The City Council has approved a $120,000 state grant to pay for a new vice officer position within the Glendale Police Department that will focus on fighting methamphetamine use and production in the city. The grant is part of a $1.65-million pool that the county got last year from the governor's Office of Criminal Justice Planning, Glendale Police Capt.

Amber Willard VERDUGO VIEJO -- Glendale Police arrested three people in two incidents involving drug sales near John Marshall Elementary School. In the first incident, a 41-year-old Glendale man was arrested Tuesday in the 300 block of McHenry Road on suspicion of producing and selling crystal meth in his garage. Jose Castaneda was scheduled to appear in Glendale court Thursday on the charges. He was released Wednesday on bond. Castaneda was arrested about 4 p.m. as he returned home with his three children in the car, in which a drug-sniffing dog found three ounces of crystal meth.

A 30-year-old San Gabriel man was arrested this week after police discovered a half-pound of methamphetamine inside a cardboard box and more than $5,000 in cash inside his car, officials said. Binh Ly, a reputed gang member on probation for narcotics, was taken into custody about 11:16 p.m. Monday at Broadway and Pacific Avenue, according to Glendale Police Department reports. After police stopped him, Ly allegedly admitted to officers that he had a half-pound of methamphetamine and $5,320 inside his car, according to reports.

The following were taken from daily booking reports from the Glendale Police Department. 600 block of East Colorado Street Armand Grkasharyan, 46, was arrested Sept. 30 on suspicion of making criminal threats. 300 block of Howard Street Viva Karamanoukian, 37, was arrested Sept. 30 on suspicion of spousal assault. 1500 block of East Colorado Street Bertha Vazques, 21, was arrested Sept. 30 on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine for sale and an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in court or pay a fine.

North Kenwood Street and East Wilson Avenue Nelson Gonzalez, 57, was arrested Oct. 8 on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. 300 block of Riverdale Drive Francisco Rodriguez, 40, was arrested Oct. 8 on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine. 500 block of Granada Street Roy Smith, 53, was arrested Oct. 8 on suspicion of spousal assault. North Central Avenue and West Wilson Avenue Maria Torres, 30, was arrested Oct. 8 on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance for sale.
