Artists and art lovers took advantage of the sunny skies and warm temperatures to talk shop Saturday during the Montrose Art Walk. Artists took the opportunity to paint outdoors as prospective customers browsed oil and watercolor paintings, as well as spray-paint art and bronze sculptures along the south sidewalk of Honolulu Avenue. Pieces were priced from $2 for postcards to $1,000 for framed oil paintings. Artist Fred Chuang of Silver Lake, who had a fold-out table heaped with wrapped artwork and custom cards underneath a canopy, said the Art Walk is a great way to get face-to- face with customers, as well as a very cost-effective way to sell his art. Chuang, with his abstract spray-paint pictures on plastic, has taken part in Art Walk for the past two years.
