Police are searching for a man who stole an 84-year-old woman's purse Thursday as she walked to her Northwest Glendale apartment. The woman had just exited a Good Day Adult Day Care bus about 2 p.m. on the 400 block of West Stocker Street when the man allegedly walked up to her, pushed her and grabbed her purse. He fled northbound on Dorothy Drive. She described the thief as a 6-foot white, adult man. He was wearing a black T-shirt, gray shorts and red socks, according to police.

A 56-year-old Glendale woman reported Thursday that her purse containing a $1,000 bonus check was stolen from a shopping cart in a grocery store parking lot, police said The woman told police that at about 7:54 p.m. she exited Vons market in the 500 block of North Glendale Avenue and briefly turned to open her vehicle trunk. That's when she suddenly noticed two men running toward her, according Glendale police reports. She had placed her purse, which contained a wallet, identification and credit cards, a cellphone, a pair of glasses and the bonus check, in the shopping cart.

A 31-year-old Glendale man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of stealing a woman's purse at gunpoint while riding a bicycle, police said. Special Enforcement Detail officers recognized the man, Ramiro Galicia, from the description provided by the victim in the robbery, Glendale Police Sgt. Tom Lorenz said. They stopped him last week in the city for riding his bicycle on the sidewalk and let him go on a warning, he added. Several days later, police said Ramiro Galicia robbed a Glendale woman of her purse as she arrived home in the 600 block of East Elk Avenue.

A 48-year-old Glendale woman on Sunday reported her purse as being stolen by a man who crouched as he approached her on Magnolia Avenue, police said. The woman had just exited a bus about 7:41 p.m. and was walking home on Magnolia Avenue near Central Avenue when a man began walking toward her, according to Glendale Police Department reports. As the two neared, he crouched and grabbed the bottom of her purse and pulled it away, remaining silent the entire time, police said. After a brief scuffle, he was eventually able to take it and run away, police said.

A Glendale man in a white converted ambulance was arrested Sunday night after he stole a 55-year-old woman's purse, groceries and a plate, police said. Vahik Khajehkian, 50, was taken into custody about 7:45 p.m. when officers spotted him rummaging inside the ambulance, which was parked in the 1200 block of Allen Avenue - not far from the robbery, according to Glendale police. Under the ambulance, officers found a bag containing the woman's groceries and plate, police said. The Glendale woman bought a plate from the Goodwill Store and groceries from Jons International Marketplace in the 1700 block of West Glenoaks Boulevard before walking home.

A woman was robbed of her purse at knifepoint Tuesday in South Glendale, police said. A knife-wielding man who was described as Latino and in his 20s reportedly ran up to the woman about 3:50 p.m. in the 700 block of East Lomita Avenue and snatched her purse, Glendale Police Sgt. Tom Lorenz said. He fled in a silver vehicle, which was occupied by three other men, Lorenz added. A thief got away with a woman's purse Sunday after he stole it from her SUV while she was placing items in the trunk, police said. The woman was standing at the rear of SUV about 8:20 a.m. on the 900 block of North Glendale Avenue when the thief stole the purse from the SUV's passenger seat, Glendale Police Sgt. Tom Lorenz said. The purse contained a cellphone, cash and credit cards. He allegedly got into a silver Mercedes SUV and fled toward the Ventura (134) Freeway.

A woman told police her purse was snatched by a man Friday as she walked on Adams Street. The robbery occurred when a black car pulled up next to her at about 11:40 p.m. on Adams, near Stanley Avenue, and the passenger began saying something to her that she didn't understand, according to Glendale police. The rear passenger then rolled down his window and grabbed her purse from her left shoulder. She tried holding on, but he was still able to pull it away, police said. The vehicle took off north on Adams.

Two women wearing hooded sweat shirts on Sunday beat and robbed a 59-year-old woman of her purse on South Brand Boulevard, police said. The woman was walking north about 6:20 a.m. on the 1700 block of South Brand Boulevard when two other women suddenly approached from behind and tried to pull the purse away. She yelled “Don't, I don't have anything in there,” but that didn't stop the women, one of whom struck her in the mouth after the purse strap broke, according to police.

A 25-year-old Glendale woman suffered cuts on her hands and knees Monday night after falling while being chased down by a man who stole her purse, police said. The woman told police she parked her car about 10:33 p.m. in her building's subterranean parking structure in the 100 block of West Cypress Street, when she noticed the gate had remained open. The woman grabbed her belongings and began walking toward an exit when she saw an unfamiliar man approaching her. As he walked toward her, she told police “something didn't feel right,” so she began running and he followed her. She screamed for help and ran out on to Orange Street, where she fell and dropped her purse.

A Glendale woman was assaulted Saturday during a robbery attempt in downtown Glendale, police said. She refused medical treatment after being hit in the face with the alleged thief's jacket, according to Glendale police. The woman was waiting for the Glendale Beeline bus at about 4:40 p.m. in the 200 block of North Brand Boulevard when a man suddenly approached her and hit her with his jacket. While her face was covered with his jacket and she yelled for help, the man tried pulling her purse off her shoulder, police said.

A 31-year-old Glendale woman reported that a man grabbed her breast and tried stealing her purse Tuesday as she walked to Starbucks, police said. The woman was using her iPhone and walking east toward the Starbucks in the 400 block of Burchett Street when she attempted to cross paths with the man, according to Glendale police. That's when the man reportedly grabbed her left breast and lunged to grab her purse. She quickly pulled away from the man, who then ran away west on Burchett Street.

A 55-year-old Glendale woman sustained minor injuries Wednesday when, as a cyclist attempted to steal her purse, she held on to it and hit her head on the ground, police said. The woman suffered a bruise on the back of her head and a scratch to her left knee, but she refused to be taken to a hospital, according to Glendale police. She was walking about 6 p.m. in the 200 block of East Chevy Chase Drive when she saw a man on a black BMX bicycle approaching her, police said. When the woman continued walking, she suddenly felt someone tugging her purse and pulling her hair.

A 54-year-old Glendale woman told police two men appeared to work together in following her into an apartment building to snatch her purse, police said. The woman had just parked her car and was walking home about 11:05 p.m. Tuesday on the 600 block of East Elk Avenue while carrying a laptop and purse, according to the Glendale Police Department. After passing by a man who was staring at her, she looked back and noticed he was following her, police said. Soon after, a second man appeared.
