In an unusual turn of events, a $1,500 purse that was stolen from a La Cañada store on Saturday was returned Thursday morning by presumably the woman who took it. “Can you believe it?” said Joanna Nelson, owner of Frockx clothing store. When Nelson arrived at her store about 10 a.m. on Thursday morning she was surprised to see the purse inside a paper grocery bag sitting at her store’s back door. The saga of the stolen purse began about 11:30 a.m. on Saturday when a woman who appeared to be in the last stages of pregnancy entered the store.

Jackson Bell Goharik Martirosian has been so shaken up since her purse was snatched while walking down the street that she's had trouble sleeping. Martirosian, a 79-year-old Glendale woman, was walking near Cedar Street and Orange Grove at about 1:45 p.m. Wednesday on her way to the Daylight Adult Day Health Care Center when an unknown man grabbed her purse and ran off, according to a Glendale Police report. "I used to walk to the day care center for exercise, since it is a few blocks away, but not anymore," she said through a translator.

A 31-year-old Glendale woman reported that a man grabbed her breast and tried stealing her purse Tuesday as she walked to Starbucks, police said. The woman was using her iPhone and walking east toward the Starbucks in the 400 block of Burchett Street when she attempted to cross paths with the man, according to Glendale police. That's when the man reportedly grabbed her left breast and lunged to grab her purse. She quickly pulled away from the man, who then ran away west on Burchett Street.

A man made off with a woman's Louis Vuitton purse Wednesday after a brief struggle while she was walking on Monterey Road, police said. The purse snatching occurred about 12:25 p.m. just west of Jackson Street. Police were unable to locate the man - described as Asian, 18 years old, 5 foot 8 inches tall and clean shaven with a thin build and short black hair - after searching the neighborhood. He was also wearing a black shirt and pants, which were cut off at the shins.

A 55-year-old Glendale woman sustained minor injuries Wednesday when, as a cyclist attempted to steal her purse, she held on to it and hit her head on the ground, police said. The woman suffered a bruise on the back of her head and a scratch to her left knee, but she refused to be taken to a hospital, according to Glendale police. She was walking about 6 p.m. in the 200 block of East Chevy Chase Drive when she saw a man on a black BMX bicycle approaching her, police said. When the woman continued walking, she suddenly felt someone tugging her purse and pulling her hair.

Police are asking for the public's help after a woman allegedly was robbed Wednesday afternoon on Brand Boulevard. The woman, who works as a housekeeper, was walking to a Wells Fargo Bank branch at about 3:20 p.m. when two men approached her from behind, according to Glendale Police Department reports. One of the men grabbed her arm and the purse from her right shoulder. They told her, “Don't move and don't act scared,” according to reports. The housekeeper told police she didn't struggle with the men because she was afraid.

Amber Willard SOUTHEAST GLENDALE -- Glendale Police are searching for a man tried to steal a woman's purse and dragged her through a parking lot, breaking her arm. The attempted purse snatching occurred about 6:45 p.m. Wednesday in the 1200 block of South Glendale Avenue as the woman walked across a parking lot, police said. The man walked behind the woman and tried to pull her purse from her shoulder, causing her to drop grocery bags she was carrying, she told police.

EAST GLENDALE — Police continued their search on Thursday for a man who pushed a 73-year-old Glendale woman to the ground and punched her in the chest before running off with her purse. The violent attack occurred at about 10:20 p.m. on Tuesday after the man followed the woman and her friend into the lobby of an apartment building on the 300 block of North Jackson Street, according to police reports. That's when he pushed the woman to the ground and proceeded to kick her several times before he punched her in the chest and fled with her purse, according to the report.

Amber Willard DOWNTOWN -- Glendale Police are searching for a man who stole a woman's purse in a parking structure at the Glendale Galleria. The woman told officers she was walking to her car shortly after 9 p.m. Saturday when a man ran behind her, pulling her purse from her shoulder, according to police reports. As the man ran away, he was joined by another man, police said. Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Glendale Crime Stoppers, an anonymous hotline, at 507-7867.

Amber Willard NORTHWEST GLENDALE -- Glendale Police are investigating a robbery in which a man swiped a woman's purse as she sat in the waiting area at North Pacific Dentistry. The woman told police the man walked into the office behind her shortly after 1:30 p.m. Friday and spoke briefly with the receptionist before going into a back room. When he returned, the man grabbed the woman's purse from the floor near her feet and ran out of the office, police said.
