Amber Willard NORTHWEST GLENDALE -- Glendale Police are searching for a man who snatched a woman's purse from her shoulder as she walked with her daughter. The woman and girl were at the intersection of Columbus Avenue and Milford Street when the man grabbed the woman's purse from behind, police said. The robbery occurred about 7:30 p.m. Monday. The man ran to a waiting car on Milford Street, and turned south on Columbus Avenue, the woman told police.

Claudia Peschiutta ADAMS HILL -- An Altadena man awaits arraignment today after being arrested by Glendale Police on suspicion of robbery and petty theft, authorities said. Ricky Bernard Clayburn, 37, was taken into custody Monday afternoon after being identified as the man who stole a purse from a woman on the 1400 block of East Colorado Street, Glendale Police Sgt. Rick Young said. The woman was getting into her car at about 3:30 p.m. Monday when a man came up behind her and forced loose the purse hanging across her chest, he said.

Amber Willard NORTHWEST GLENDALE -- Glendale Police are searching for a man who stole a woman's purse after pushing her to the ground. The woman told police she was walking on the sidewalk at Sonora Avenue and Flower Street shortly after 5 p.m. Monday when a man pushed her from behind, knocking her to the ground. After a brief struggle, the man took her purse and ran west on Flower Street with three other men, police said. Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Glendale Crime Stoppers, an anonymous hotline, at 507-7867.

Amber Willard SOUTHWEST GLENDALE -- Glendale Police are looking for a man who stole a woman's purse as she walked on a sidewalk. The woman was headed north on Pacific Avenue at Broadway about 10:15 p.m. Tuesday when the man walked alongside her and spoke to her in an unknown language, she told police. The man then grabbed her purse and fearing he would attack her, the woman let go, she told police. The man ran north on Pacific Avenue after the robbery.

Police are looking for a man they believe held a butcher knife to a Glendale woman's throat and stole her purse. The woman was at her car near the corner of Lincoln Avenue and Dixon Street Sunday when a man grabbed her from behind, binding her arms to her body, according to police reports. The man threatened her with a butcher knife, warning her not to move or he would kill her, police said. The woman struggled with the man, breaking free of his grip and screaming, according to the report.

Jackson Bell Two more women reported their purses snatched over the weekend, pushing the number of such robberies in the area to five in less than a week, officials said. The string of purse-snatchings began Jan. 8 and have all occurred in the southeast corner of the city, according to Glendale police reports. Investigators have no leads and are asking for the public's help in finding the robbers, Sgt. Tom Lorenz said. "All the descriptions we are receiving are not the same, so what we are trying to do is determine if this is not an individual but maybe a group involved," Lorenz said.

Police are searching for additional victims of a Glendale man suspected of reaching into cars and grabbing drivers' purses. Glendale patrol officers arrested Oganes Ketsoyan, 25, on June 12 on suspicion of receiving stolen property when an officer saw the checkbook of a Pasadena woman wedged in between the seats of his car, according to police reports. When officers searched Ketsoyan's car, they discovered a Pasadena woman's purse and cell phone, the report said.

Gretchen Hoffman Glendale Police are looking for someone who snatched two women's purses in two recent incidents. A woman told police she was walking to the bus stop at Brand Boulevard and Mountain Street about 8 a.m. Sunday when she felt a sharp tug on her arm, according to the police report. The next thing she remembers is being helped up from the ground by a bus driver, and her purse was missing. The purse was later found in Burbank. Another woman told police she was walking east on Loraine Street near the intersection with Central Avenue about 8:35 p.m. Sunday when a man grabbed her purse and ran away.
