Buck Wargo CITY HALL -- Scenes of the CBS television series "Martial Law" will be filmed in Glendale today and Thursday. The filming was scheduled to start at 5 a.m. today at Baker's Hardware, 3925 San Fernando Road. It will end by 10 p.m., according to a city permit issued to CBS Productions. On Thursday, filming is planned between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. at Baker's. Scenes will also be shot today at Solar Studios, 1601 S. Central Ave. The permit said there will be 100 cast and crew in Glendale.

Ben Godar A city employee was charged with malicious mischief Wednesday after an alleged road-rage confrontation involving a city truck. The suspect, an employee of the maintenance services division, began slamming on his breaks and swerving when the victim, a Glendale man, tried to pass him on San Fernando Road. While stopped at the light at the corner of San Fernando Road and Doran Street, the suspect left his vehicle and approached the driver's side door of the victim's truck.

Glendale Police say they have identified a man who tried to rob a woman of her purse as she walked on Brand Boulevard, but they are still looking for the victim. A witness told police the man approached an elderly woman at about 9:45 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Brand Boulevard and San Fernando Road and tried to grab her purse out of her hand, according to the police report. She struggled and screamed, and the man ran away. The witness followed the man as he ran north on San Fernando Road to Los Feliz Boulevard, and police interviewed a suspect but are still trying to find the victim.

Car strikes hydrant, closes road for hours A 44-year-old woman driving a white Ford Explorer SUV struck and dislocated a fire hydrant on the corner of San Fernando Road and Grandview Avenue, on Sunday, said Glendale Police Sgt. Tigran Topadzhikyan. The collision, which occurred at about 1 p.m., caused damage to nearby power lines and a telephone conduit box, said Frank Williams, Glendale Water & Power senior water systems mechanic. The water from the fire hydrant was shut off within 10 minutes, Williams said.

The following were taken from reports filed at the Glendale Police Department:     San Fernando Road and Sonora Avenue: A 46-year-old Van Nuys man was arrested Friday on suspicion of driving on a suspended driver’s license and three warrants.   1100 block of East California Avenue: A 24-year-old Glendale man was arrested Saturday on suspicion of vandalizing a sidewalk and street as well as being in a criminal street gang.

The following information was taken from police reports: 1100 block of Stanley Avenue: A Glendale man reported Thursday that his 1994 Lexus ES300 was stolen. 1200 block of Viola Avenue: A Glendale woman reported Thurs- day that $1,984 in cash, electronics and collectibles was stolen from her family's storage locker. 200 block of West Dryden Street: A Glendale man reported Thursday that his custom wheels, worth $1,785, were stolen from his car. 5900 block of San Fernando Road: A Sunland woman reported Thursday that her Pioneer stereo, worth $3,000, was stolen from her car. 6401 San Fernando Road: A Glendale woman reported Thurs- day that her wallet, containing $600, was stolen from her while she shopped at the 99 Cents Only store.

Amber Willard SOUTHWEST GLENDALE -- Glendale Police are investigating a robbery in which a man pulled a woman's purse from her arm and ran to a waiting car. The robbery occurred at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Central Avenue and San Fernando Road, police said. The woman was walking on the sidewalk when a man passed her, then reached out and grabbed her purse, she told police. A brief tug-of-war ensued before the woman fell, letting go of her bag, police said.

Amber Willard SOUTHWEST GLENDALE -- Glendale Police are searching for two men who robbed Mas Liquor, taking money from the cash register and a customer's gold necklace. The men entered the store shortly after 8:30 a.m. Thursday, waited for a customer to leave, then demanded money from the clerk, police said. One of the men threatened the female worker with a handgun while the other man held a bag for her put money into, she told police. During the robbery, a customer walked into the store at 4106 San Fernando Road and one of the men took her gold necklace.

Three people were in guarded condition Friday night after smashing into each other on San Fernando Road at Grandview Avenue, a sergeant said. A Dodge Caravan tried to turn left from San Fernando onto Grandview when a four-door Honda Civic driving straight on San Fernando crashed into it, said Sgt. Jim Lowrey. The three people, two of whom had to be extracted from the Civic with the Jaws of Life, were taken to County- USC Medical Center, Lowrey said.
