The Los Angeles County District Attorney declined to file charges against a 21-year-old Glendale woman in connection with the stabbings of two fisherman at the Santa Monica Pier on Saturday . Agavni Manukyan, 21, was initially arrested in connection with the incident. Three Burbank men pleaded not guilty to charges that they were involved in the stabbing, authorities said. One man, Araik Ovoian, 24, pleaded not guilty to two counts of attempted murder, said Ricardo Santiago, spokesman for the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office.

Gretchen Hoffman LA CRESCENTA -- A diplomat's daughter was found in Santa Monica Friday, two days after she ran away from her La Crescenta home, Glendale Police said. Hi-Jong Kim, 15, was discovered missing about 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, police said. Her father, Byung Ho Kim, is the Korean deputy consul general of Los Angeles. Based on information on a flier distributed by Glendale Police, Santa Monica Police recognized the girl at the Santa Monica Pier at about 10:50 a.m. on Friday, Glendale Police Sgt. Kirk Palmer said.

The June gloom should be heading out just in time for La Crescenta?s Beach Bus schedule to start. The Beach Bus is a summer-long, round trip to the beach via bus. The program is co-sponsored by the city of La Cañada Flintridge and Los Angeles County. The bus begins running Tuesday and continues until Sept. 7. It will run every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with a special Labor Day trip. The bus makes several local pick-up stops: Two Strike Park at 9:30 a.m.; the former site of the county library on La Crescenta Avenue at 9:35 a.m.; the southeast corner of Montrose and La Crescenta avenues at 9:45 a.m.; and the southeast corner of Montrose Avenue and Ocean View Boulevard at 9:50 a.m. The bus drops passengers off at Santa Monica Pier, with the return trip leaving from the pier at 3:30 p.m. ?

As if the Hindu God of fortune Vishnu were watching over La Crescenta, the clouds have finally parted ? just in time for La Crescenta?s Beach Bus schedule to start up. The Beach Bus is a summer-long, round-trip to the beach via bus. The program is co-sponsored by the city of La Cañada and the county of Los Angeles. The bus begins running next week, starting Tuesday, June 23, and continues until Sept. 7. It will run every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with a special Labor Day trip.

It’s true that many people look forward to a weekend exodus out of the Big City, but there are others who are looking for an extra dose of energy and excitement and find a place like Los Angeles offers a menu of attractions, even to locals. On a weekend trip to L.A. we combined a little business with pleasure and that meant I had to be in the city for business before my wife and daughter could join me. So we decided my family would take the Amtrak train from the San Diego area into L.A. where I would pick them up. The trip up on the train was just a couple of hours, so that part went fine.

Though summer is winding down for many in Glendale, the city’s YMCA day camp is still bustling with activity. The annual camp fills up with about 75 students each week and offers a wide array of activities at its Isabel Street campus and field trips in Southern California. On Monday afternoon, the center buzzed with commotion as 6- to 14-year-olds from around the region shot small black disks along a carom board, played animated games of foosball and swung wooden paddles at white plastic balls across a netless ping-pong table.
