Police are looking for a man and woman who they said reportedly stole and concealed several hundreds of dollars in teeth-whitening and skin-care products in a reusable shopping bag. Photographs of the pair were released Tuesday and showed them browsing the aisles of a grocery store. They are wanted in connection with four shoplifting cases, which occurred sometime between 6:30 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. and mostly on weekdays from March 26 to April 15 at a Vons grocery store in the 2000 block of Verdugo Boulevard, according to Glendale police.

The following incidents were taken from police reports. Glendale Galleria: A Sun Valley woman was arrested Thursday on suspicion of shoplifting $30 worth of jewelry from Mervyn's. Glendale Galleria: A 19-year-old Los Angeles man and two 17-year-old Los Angeles boys were arrested Thursday on suspicion of shoplifting $155 worth of clothing from J.C. Penney. 500 block of Hill Drive: A 24-year-old Glendale man was arrested Thursday on suspicion of hitting a woman in the mouth.

AREA 1   800 block of East Mariposa Street Alexander Barrera, 22, was arrested Jan. 28 on suspicion of vandalism in furtherance of a criminal street gang.     100 block of North Isabel Street Lidia Chebukina, 69, was arrested Jan. 28 on suspicion of shoplifting.     100 block of North Isabel Street Steven Allen Golden,64, was arrested Jan. 28 on suspicion of shoplifting.

The following information was taken from police reports: 400 block of East Dryden Street: A 34-year-old Glendale man and 28-year-old Glendale woman reported Thursday that a 2000 Honda Accord, 2004 Toyota Prius and 1998 Toyota RAV-4 were broken into at their condominium's parking garage. They told officers that three watches and a wedding ring, worth a combined $5,600, were stolen from the cars. 600 block of West California Avenue: A 32-year-old Glendale man was arrested Thursday on suspicion of possessing a 2004 Boston Red Sox autographed baseball worth $4,000 that was taken from a sports store in the Glendale Galleria.

With the hot summer months approaching, Gov. Jerry Brown has asked that every city and community conserve water in every way possible. So, effective today, the Crescenta Valley Water District is requesting that residents use extraordinary water-conservation efforts. The most significant change is outdoor irrigation will be permitted only on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Watering times will remain the same with outdoor irrigation allowed before 9 a.m. and after 5 p.m. Appropriate hand watering of potted plants and vegetable gardens is excluded from the time limitations.

A G ood Samaritan helped authorities prevent a n alleged shoplifter from getting away earlier this week by trying to yank her from her car and removing her keys from the ignition, police said. The alleged shoplifter, Sarah Ann Costello, was spotted placing several boxes of perfume and sunglasses inside a large empty purse Monday inside Nordstrom Rack in the 200 block of North Glendale Avenue, according to police reports. A loss prevention worker tried to stop Costello, 32, as she exited the store, but her boyfriend suddenly appeared in a fighting stance, police said.

Last week, I mentioned that a funny thing happened on the way to writing my column. What had begun as a chronicle of my adventures with veganism quickly took a strange turn when I was interrupted by the sight of a woman who was nabbed by Whole Foods employees for shoplifting. Or perhaps the items merely fell into her purse, since no formal accusation was made. Four employees confronted this shopper outside the store as she was attempting to leave. Inside the woman's purse were various items that by all appearances had not been paid for. From my ringside seat, I watched intently as the woman and employees discussed the matter.

A 21-year-old man who prompted an extensive police search after a robbery at Sears last week was arrested Monday after trying to steal jeans and shoes from Target, police said. Personnel from Target's loss prevention spotted the man, Jairo Ramirez - whom they recognized from previous thefts and a robbery - in the store Monday morning trying to steal $159 worth of merchandise, said Glendale Police Sgt. York Tsuruta of the Downtown Policing Unit. Target personnel immediately notified Glendale police, who surrounded the store's exits and arrested him. Ramirez “is a chronic offender for shoplifting,” he said.

LA CRESCENTA ? Rosemont Middle School administrators are working with officials from a nearby Ralphs to find a solution regarding students they say are shoplifting and littering at the market, among other things. Rosemont Principal Sally Buckley sent out a special bulletin to parents last week, informing them that some of the students have been making "poor decisions" at the market on the school's Thursday banking days, when because of teachers' meetings, school starts at 9 a.m. instead of 8 a.m. On those days, some of the students have been going to the Ralphs supermarket ?

Glendale Galleria: A Robinsons-May employee was arrested Wednesday for shoplifting after loss prevention managers caught him on a surveillance camera.

No one was arrested. 100 block of South Brand Boulevard: A 15-year-old Glendale boy was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of shoplifting $96.94 worth of compact discs from Tower Records. 1000 block of Western Avenue: A woman told police that someone broke into her house Wednesday and stole $2,050 worth of jewelry and compact discs.
