HealthCare Partners Medical Spa, a clinic for rejuvenating skin treatments, celebrated its one-year anniversary last week with a little star power. In addition to a spread of hors d'oeuvres and chilled vitaminwater, spa guests were treated to first-hand advice from fashion model Eva Pigford, who won "America's Next Top Model" in 2004, during the television show's third season. "Moisturizer, moisturizer, moisturizer," Pigford said. But moisturizer isn't the only product or treatment Pigford uses to maintain a look that has landed the 22-year-old several film and television roles, she said.

Burger boutique. That's the best way to describe the new Eden Burger Bar in Glendale. Just like on Rodeo Drive, chic surroundings beckon, lovely assistants provide excellent service, and beautiful products, in this case hamburgers, tempt. When it comes to burgers, I steer clear of the build-it-yourself places. I like to leave it to creative and talented chefs to come up with good combinations under the bun. At Eden Burger Bar, they've engineered nine very different artisan burgers (all $10)

Am I the only one who thinks people getting tattoos is getting out of hand and not at all attractive? Tattoos have become mainstream, with more people on television and in high profile jobs showcasing the ink all over their extremities. That's why so many college basketball players are looking like they belong in a circus; they are emulating their NBA idols.  Isn't it funny how people spend so much money in order to combat skin blemishes and aging, but marking one's body with ink is appealing?
