A resident of La Cañada Flintridge for 45 years, Robert Andresen died on April 16, 2005 in Pasadena. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth; daughter Elise Hildreth of Indiana; stepchildren Dr. Dale Jones of San Luis Obispo, Dr. Joyce Millikan of Pasadena, and Wendy Allestad of Altadena; along with eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Harold Andresen of Lafayette, and four nieces and nephews. Andresen, 88, was born in San Francisco in 1916.

A crowd of hundreds watched as a muscle-bound New York City cop bench pressed 400 pounds of steel with his bare hands. Feats of strength, fitness routines, bulging t-shirts and body enhancing vitamin supplements were all on the menu at the 4th annual FitExpo in the Pasadena Civic Auditorium. The event, which originates in Glendale, drew more than 10,000 people from all over the United States and even some from Europe, said Media Officer Monica Gillen. Executive Director of The FitExpo Erin Ferries said the company started in Glendale about seven years ago with the objective of putting together a large, interactive fitness expo for the masses.

The Crescenta Valley Soccer Club girls' Under 12 team is continuing to compete against the top teams in Southern California. After winning the Coast Soccer League Silver North Division, and advancing to the semifinals of the Nike Harvest Cup Tournament over the Thanksgiving weekend, this team had already earned the reputation of being the dominant team in this area. CVSC prepared to face the top teams in Southern California in the Coast Soccer League "League Cup" over the past weekends.

GLENDALE — Running the gauntlet of one ranked, stacked opponent after another from week to week has begun to play out like a recurring bad dream for the Glendale Community College, but it’s simply the reality of playing in the Northern Conference National Division. The Vaqueros (3-3) have suffered two tough, close losses so far in conference play and have their work cut out once again today when arguably their strongest opponent so far, Bakersfield College, visits Sartoris Field for a 6 p.m. kickoff.

Local baseball team to be formed The La Crescenta Crush, a kid pitch 9-and-under tournament baseball team, is looking for All-Star and championship team players from the area to participate in several tournaments in Southern California in the fall. Interested players must be 9 or younger as of April 30, 2009 and willing to travel to tournament games on the weekends once per month. GLENDALE ? From Southern California to Canada, then back to Southern California, before earning a trip Greece and finally, back home. It was a whirlwind summer for Glendale High graduate Kevin Witt and the rest of his teammates on the Team USA Men's National Water Polo team. It concluded in Athens, as Team USA came up short in its bid to qualify for the championship in the FINA World League Super Final after consecutive losses to Serbia and Montenegro and Spain. Witt and Co. had advanced through the preliminaries in Canada and the semifinals in Los Alamitos with an undefeated mark prior and qualified for the finals after failing to the previous year.

The San Gabriel Volleyball Club 13-year-old and Under Roshambo team won the National Championships at the Junior Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah on July 2nd. Based in Pasadena, the San Gabriel Volleyball Club is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a national title. The club's 12-year-old and under team finished fifth overall in the United States as well and finished number one in Southern California. The club's 14-year-old and under Roshambo finished ninth in the American Division in the Junior Olympics.

Born November 27 th , 1923 passed away on January 13 th , 2012.  Leonora (Lee) was a longtime resident of Glendale, California and Hollywood. Lee was the first licensed woman paving contractor in the State of California. Associated with Accurate Asphalt paving, Universal Paving, and Vice President of California Paving/Goode and Schroeder Paving Company from 1977 to her death. She was a true legend among the leaders of the asphalt paving industry in Southern California. In world of a man dominated industry, she was a true leader.
