Gretchen Hoffman The following incidents were taken from police reports. 700 block of Orange Grove Avenue: A 44-year-old Glendale man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of threatening to kill his wife. 1000 block of Irving Avenue: A man told police someone broke into his car and stole a stereo, CDs and sunglasses on Wednesday. 3300 block of Los Olivos Lane: A man told police someone broke into his car, stole his wallet and damaged the ignition on Wednesday.

Joshua Pelzer Some in Glendale celebrated their mothers Sunday with cards, flowers and family, while others became mothers themselves. Warm temperatures and sunshine seemed to welcome the city's new mothers as they prepared for new beginnings at Glendale Adventist Medical Center. This included a pair of sisters sharing their motherhood experiences. Marine Haleblian had her second child Saturday as her sister, Heghine Guldalian, was preparing for her first.

STEVENSON RANCH ? Under a sweltering early afternoon sky on Saturday, neither the St. Francis High or West Ranch offenses ever cooled down. But in a game characterized by a never-ending parade of walks, it was West Ranch that had the hottest bat, and Wildcats slugger Cody Howard?s solo home run in the bottom of the sixth ? his third of the game ? stood as the difference after a Golden Knights rally in the seventh inning fell a run short in a 14-13 loss in the second round of the Valley Invitational Baseball League playoffs at West Ranch High.

Iacobellis -- Nivon Loralei M. Iacobellis of Burbank and Daniel Nivon of Stevenson Ranch have announced their engagement and plan to marry in July. The bride-to-be is the daughter of Mario Iacobellis and Bernadette Cuthbert of Burbank. She attended Thomas Jefferson Elementary School and St. Robert Bellarmine School and graduated from Bellarmine- Jefferson High School. She received two bachelor's degrees, one in international business and the other in business management, from Woodbury University.

GLENDALE — Los Angeles County Sheriff’s officials said a 41-year-old parolee may be responsible for robbing four seniors, including two in Glendale, after they were followed home from their banks. Authorities were able to link parolee Lee Jones and his black Dodge Charger to a robbery of an 82-year-old woman on the 25000 block of Bowie Court in Stevenson Ranch, said sheriff’s Lt. Steve Low of the Santa Clarita Valley station. Low declined to release details about the robbery until the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office filed formal charges against Jones, who is being held in a county jail.

The following incidents were taken from police reports: Lexington Drive and Howard Street: A 25-year-old Glendale man reported Monday the cab meter was stolen from his taxi cab. 100 block of North Maryland Avenue: A 21-year-old Los Angeles man was arrested Sunday on suspicion of possessing a wooden bat and metal pipe. Foothill Boulevard and Lowell Avenue: A 22-year-old Tujunga man was arrested Sunday on suspicion of giving false information during a traffic stop.

Amber Willard GLENDALE -- While Hagop "Jake" Kuredjian was eulogized Tuesday at a local church, officials were still investigating the events that led to his death last week. Kuredjian, a 17-year veteran of the county sheriff's department, responded to the shootout in Stevenson Ranch Friday after a man opened fire on federal and local officials trying to serve a search warrant, officials said. James Allen Beck, a former police officer, was suspected of impersonating a U.S. marshal, and of weapons violations.

Kathleen Joan Murphy passed away on January 12, 2010 from complications of asthma.  Kathleen was born November 29, 1955 in San Luis Obispo but grew up in La Crescenta and graduated from Crescenta Valley High School in 1973.  Kathleen led a life of advocacy on behalf of the nation’s children by speaking on their behalf in Sacramento and on local television, training advocates and educating the public on issues that affect children from early interventions, quality child care, health care reform and education.
